I have yet to find a solid method for finding new anime. I would like something that is time efficient and that produces good results. Sometimes I will browse through my recommended on MAL and then from there I look through specific genres but is there a faster way to find anime that fit what you're looking for?
If anyone has some tips or a really good method I would love to hear them!

I suggest joining a Discord (if you have irl friends that watch anime, no need) and ask for suggestions. It'll give you guys something to discuss and you won't find yourself addicted. It'll keep you grounded, you know?

I generally just look on AniChart and see what is coming out in the upcoming seasons. Other than that I just browse the top charts on MAL and see what looks good.
Are you feeling it now Mr. Krabs?

Best way is varying your methods ..
Have you tried tvtropes? Looking into the studio/mangaka/director/voice actor of your favourite anime? Seasonal charts?

I just watch every single first episode of all new anime. Not the most efficient method, but rather the most comprehensive. I quickly whittle down depending on how I like the 1st episode (though I usually don't drop some shows until after 2-3 episodes).

Don't trust the recommendations. It gives me MonMusu which is as far away as what I want.

I suggest just go to the rec board and ask for something specific. Some users there give good recommendations.

Personally, I just have a look at whatever anime I come across on MAL, have a look at the synpnosis and genres, and if it interests me and I feel like I wanna give it a shot I just drop it into my watchlist.

My current strategy has been "randomly" and so far it's been working out pretty well. If you hang around MAL for long enough good anime will just come to you. MAL forums, seasonal pages, user recommendations, reviews, profile pages, friend's lists, searching your name or favourite series in the search bar to see what comes up, and featured articles are some ways of finding out about anime. With some practice you can find some really good anime just randomly and you might find a new favourite in a way you wouldn't expect.

1) Pick about 10 anime that you're sorta interested in, and have someone pick a random number.
2) Go through your plan to watch and pick the first title that sounds interesting.
3) Go with how you're feeling. Do you feel happy? Comedy. Do you feel risky? Jump into a category you don't particularly like. Do you feel sad? Drama. Do you feel creative? Fantasy.

I go with 3 most of the time. :)

Go at the seasonal page and exclude what genre you don't want to watch, all the rest should be good for you.

Normally I go on this https://sakugabooru.com/post/random and keep clicking random until I find something cool then I look it up on MAL to figure out more information. Which would normally decide whether or not I would watch a show or movie.

All shows on MAL have recommendations. Pick one show you liked and wouldn't mind watching now and go to its recommendation page. I picked One-punch man as an example from the 10's you have this is its recommendations page https://myanimelist.net/anime/30276/One_Punch_Man/userrecs
A curve including all entries should be of a gaussian form. One including limited entries by picking animes you liked and not rating animes you dropped should look like mine.
Amount of total animes each rating should have (percentages): 6-25,7-15,8-6,9-3,10-1

I usually googled the genre of something that I feel like watching, and after finding one that suits my current taste, I checked if the Anime have a Manga version of it.

If it does have a Manga, I usually read them first for a few chapter to see if it's good or not, and if it is, I swiftly switch to it's Anime version. Kind of a cheap way, if you ask me. You can also have someone give you recommendations and suggestions.

until I got to like 600-800 completions I never had a problem finding stuff to watch just by browsing the toplist, looking at highly rated recommendations for shows I liked and the occasional recommendation thread. Once I had seen all the somewhat well-known stuff I started to stick to individual users who had seen more than me but seemed to have a similar taste. That's how I found a lot of the more obscure shows. And of course during all that time I kept adding everything to my PTW that I could see myself watching at some point, so that browsing my PTW alone would always give me enough options to pick from.

Honestly, the top 100 or top 200 are a good place to start when you haven't seen much yet. Most shows there are solid and if you generally like their genre you'll usually end up liking them too. But most importantly just keep notice of anything interesting that you come across, and after a while you will have accumulated a solid pool of shows to select from to make sure you'll never run out of stuff to watch.
I probably regret this post by now.

Try looking at the recommendations section of some of your favorite anime, that's one way of looking for new things to watch.

Get recommendations from someone with a similar taste to yours.
I'm not a lolicon, you're just projecting your tendency to lewd 2D characters.

If your favourite character is Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko, you are my soul mate.

Been a long time since I've been here, I'll continue expressing myself freely and believe everyone should too.
