[1/10 VOTINGS INTENSIFIES]
These people are childish af to do that. (Not just for Gintama but for whatever anime that gets #1 or close)
Anyway, OT :
AAAAAAAAAH, feels good to see Gintama back again !
Lol'd at the Saiki reference at the beginning and them talkign about love live and the love livers.
Anyway, the OP and ED sounded better than what i expected but wasnt amazing tho.
Let me point more towards the 1/10 Voting: Whoever Votes like that are pretty much butthurt because their favorite aren't up there (not like I cared about the Top Lists but that's just pretty petty from their end xD)

But BNP studio was originally created by Sunrise so work on anime that air on family-friendly IPs and the studio won't work on a late night time-slot. Sunrise makes anime for both time-slots though
Technically yes, it's the BNP staff, so basically it'll feel like as if its made by BNP. However, they're making this at Sunrise's studio.
Intense_ said:Though it is being animated at Sunrise, the staff is basically the same as Gintama°. It's just the BNP only animates stuff that broadcast in family-friendly timeslot so the entire staff is working at Sunrise instead.
GoldenDevilGamer said:Thank god..Thanks for clarifying the last thing I wanna see is a bad adaptation of my favorite anime.I've just noticed this season will be adapted by Sunrise unlike the last so I guess no need to worry.
Intense_ said:In a good manner. Almost nothing was skipped while maintaining the tension. With this pacing, the plot progression feels much more adequate. This episode adapted 3 chapters, which is the average for Gintama serious arcs. If they adapted 2 chapters, not much would've happened in this episode.
Come on I need this in my life ASAP btw some say it's fast paced in a good manner or bad manner? I'm kinda worried.
This season will be animated by BNP, no ?
Wtf ? Was this spoken of in any news?

I think the entire episode focused more on piecing things together further since last season, and I like the explanation throughout how Altana works
I don't think later arcs will elaborate on what altana is so I'll pull out a statement from Sorachi, I believe, from a source I've forgotten where. Altana is the energy of life of a planet that leaks out on various spots of the planet, forming what people call "fengshui", or special places with unique harmony between animals humans and nature, often a sign of good luck and health for people who live in these areas. Apparently Sorachi adopted this traditional oriental concept to the extreme by saying that people and animals born in these spots have mutant abilities. Two cases mentioned so far are Utsuro, an immortal man, and Sadaharu, aka the Inugami.

Great first episode! Gintama's comedy is still as strong as ever. Lol the Elizabeth's d*** and Matako's D***tako joke xD
The Utsuro's explaination is pretty great too! I have chills when watching him stepping out of flame and hearing the voice drop. Definitely creepier than in the manga.
p/s: Those 1/10 never goes away huh?

You got this weird feeling when watching this gintama, like this is not gintama I used to watch, but this is gintama too! And then when watching it suddenly it's finished already, damn.
Seriously, can't wait next episode

Aaaaah, god it feels good! Gintama is back and it's going to be epic!
I did read the manga and I love the pacing of this first episode. Starting with great comedy - Zura is perfect - and then switch to serious tone, because yeah, this arc is principally very serious and very epic. One of the best, for me.
God, I love Utsuro. Just with that episode, we just clearly understand how dangerous he is. His seiyuu is really good - the switch between Shouyo and Utsuro gave me chills.
Didn't like the ending, but I really love the op! The song is not the greatest, but the art and the animation won me.
Do anyone knows if Gintama. adapts the manga until the end or just the Rayako arc? The manga will end in the next months, and I can't wait to see it animated!

JizzyHitler said:During the SA and FS arcs, the title in the OP also had subtitles that named their arc :D
This arc looks like its gonna be one hell of a ride but i wonder if its only going to be 1 cour and adapt the rakyou arc only cause of it having the subtitle battle for rakyou in the opening and ending. I hope not cause i like the idea of "gintama." being the final season with the end point period representing it all being over.

Is the pin Kagura picked up from Saiki Kusuo no Sainan?
Anyways, glad this show is back. The anime took a pretty serious turn so the amount of comedy in this episode was a bit low. But it is still funny though. The revelation about Utsuro was a bit disappointing I was hoping Utsuro was Shoyo's evil twin or something else. I didn't think they would be the same person.
A great comeback for the fourth season. Can't wait 'til next week
Is it just me or Nobume looks like Akame (from the critic-hated anime)?
I like the way Gin-chan says violence.

It's back. So happy. Good first episode. Already got me hook.
Too many objective vs subjective debate in AD. I will just leave this here(also, on Critical Thinking). To be a critique means to be subjective.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.
It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person.
