But yeah, there are more people riding the hate bandwagon than the amount of breads William Zeppeli has eaten in his life. | It can be annoying when they get really harsh about it, but even then I try to go my own way unless I know them well enough to start talking shit back to them without any real animosity. If I don't know them then I don't care much, though - like I said, I won't act like it doesn't annoy me when they get outright dickish about it, but they can still do them and I'd rather leave them to get mad at stuff by themselves rather than get into a long and stupid slapfight over tastes. At the end of the day they're not going to be able to change my likes and dislikes no matter how hard they try or what they fling my way. I'm a stubborn bastard like that. |

| Lol I find a lot of pleasure in tearing my favorite series limb from limb. Nothing anyone can say about my favorite series can phase me because I've already said it myself. Still, I will point out the good points of my favorite shows-- you know, what makes me like them. That's all that's really important even if someone else doesn't like those points. It's kinda like with music. People might say a song is like idk pop filth, but for me, listening to the song makes me happy, so who cares? Party Rock Anthem is one of those I guess. So it'd be false to say I don't care, just that I'm not too bothered by it. Sometimes I'll see someone rate my fave series low on here and jokingly say, "Oh my gosh, this guy's got shiiiiit taaaaaaste wtf how you gonna rate it like that?" All in good fun though. I don't hold it against them. Phendrus said: 1. Said person resorts to using derogatory puns (i.e. "Sh*t Art Online" or "Code Gayass.") At that point, I politely inform them that it's hard to take them seriously when they're so insecure about their own position that they have to prop it up with childish insults. | Well I respect people with their opinions, especially if they are serious.. But in this kind of case, rather than wasting my time looking at their profile, Im not gonna take it seriously and ended up ignoring, especailly if the pattern is just the same like this... 1. They are using exaggerated words... such as "shit", "trash", "garbage" and this I couldnt respect their opinion as well no matter how "good" they think their taste is. 2. Their reasoning is just like what people say in general, and couldnt point out one by one the detail part where and why they disliking it or the issue in the anime. even if I know they might not have time for that but that thing sounds like an excuses for me, and make it seems like they just see it from one side and its too shallow. And since its too shallow, I dont think I will waste my time disscussing such things cause usually 3. They are stubborn with their general idea since they couldnt point the detail things that they dont like. So.... ya.. I think if the case is like that up there, I would say, let them bash as much as they want, well good thing since they still can type and talk freely here LOL :v |

| In general I really don't care if someone hates my favourites, it is their choice. Have a good life and use your energy for something worth more than just haiting. But if it comes to discussion then: 1 - I will ask them WHY they hate my favourite - maybe I will learn something interesting. 2 - If there is lack of rational arguments I will smile and move on without a word 3 - I may ask their favourite and - leave it at that or maybe argue for a moment or throw lots of shit on their fav just for fun. |
| If it's me going on their page, and then looking at the shared anime between you and them. When I notice something I gave a high score received a low score from them, I just mutter in my head, "wow sh*t taste you got there, how dare you hate on xxx anime". After that I just leave them be, I'd never start an argument or discussion, since they're probably just a random member of the community who I visited the page of just for fun. 1000th post, yay! |

| The narcissistic me says: If someone dislikes something I like, not necessarily a favorite, normally has bad taste anyways, with some flukes at best, therefore I don't consider them someone worth arguing with. Since everyone who disagrees witn me is wrong by default, it doesn't worth the effort. My most favorites above the affinity persentage MAL provides is the measuring number how much credit do I give to someone's opinion. If someone writes a review or makes a recommendation, I check how they are thinking about my favorites. If I don't give credit to someone's opinion, there is nothing to argue about. The real me silently agrees. Seriously, I never sent a PM or wrote on someone's profile just because they liked or didn't like something, but I did get those kinds of messages. Those went from "you should really give another chance to ***" to "shit taste". |
