| So everyone's got gunmen now, so it should make for epic battle scenes. I'm excited to get to know the characters introduced if they decide to build on them - especially Isaak or whoever since he seems cool. Not sure why so many people dislike the Kamina/Yoko moments. She was concerned that he and Simon were going to be killed so it's understandable. It didn't even seem like a romantic moment until there was that long pause of looking at each other. I know I'd definitely take Kamina/Yoko over Simon/Yoko (which seems more like younger brother/older sister to me) any day. |

| So how is it that a little boy''s crotch is shown without this show getting a "Mild Nudity" rating? Does nudity only apply to girls for some reason? -.-; Anyway, this episode was pretty good. I've gotten over the manly spirit stuff, so it was a pretty fun watch. We're finally learning more about the Beastmen, and Gurren-Dai is finally coming together. It'd be nice if we got more depth going forward. I don't understand the Kamina x Yoko complaints, though. It's certainly better than Simon x Yoko. |

| Ok, so a giant dick robot shows up and everyone's all like "It's too big!" "It'll rip us apart!" Then the dick robot thrashes them around and starts pulling apart Gurren Lagann; you can see the robot's bottom plates stretching apart as if that were his asshole This imagery is hilarious |
| I liked the fight it was cool. I also like how the characters are beginning to bond and develop with each other. Its starting to add some depth and realism to their characters. |

| Woohoo at there being a fully team under Kamina's command now! Let's see how far they can go. I actually kind of like Yoko and Kamina together now, so I'd be ok with that if it happened. The next episode is called "Farewell, Comrades" ;-; |
| So, finally watching this series due to all the accumulated hype over the years. Not impressed yet. It has been slightly tiresome so far. It doesn't outright annoy me so I guess I'll go thru with it. |

| Oh look, Simon did something smart! Also, will Yoko or anyone female ever get to pilot a gunman? It seems a bit unfair that only guys are piloting them (so far anyways). I liked this one though, and the upcoming battles sound exciting, too. |

| Normally I'm all for the standard pairings in pretty much every show I watch. But Kamina x Yoko? Nope, not feeling it at all. |
| I really really dislike how Simon is always being overlooked even though he's been at least half of the reason every battle was won and even more so fighting that base/boss. Either way, I just hope it doesn't go on like this for ever. He actually reminds me of Mikasa from iron blood orphans! just like him, scaled down proportionately of course. Good episode by the way |

| In terms of story, yeah it's pretty good so far, progression is great. As for the characters, I'm still having a hard time getting used to the characters. Simon is just too wimpy, I hope he dies (although he is somewhat starting to get a bit better) and Kamina is just overly-confident, it's annoying as well. I mean I guess they do balance each other out, but still. Like most people, I'm still not a fan of Kamina x Yoko, but as long as Kamina changes and gets rid of his "I'm the best, never give up" attitude, only then will I accept him and Yoko. Hm, was she going to confess at the end of the episode? :o DoubleTalKingReu said: Dunno if it's already been said but almost everything to do with that mobile fortress was a sexual inuendo. | Good episode apart from the Yoko x Kamina scene.. Kamina is annoying to me and Yoko is the main thing that I like about the show. I personally think Simon x Yoko would be much better. Simon needs some love. At the moment it seems like the stereotypical case of the bad boy gets all the chicks 4/5 |

| That giant Gunmen Fortress looks both phallic and badass! The ladies exclaiming on how big it is really gives out some naughty thoughts~ That fight was awesome. How Simon devised such a plan to incapacitate the S.S Gorilla is admiring. Kamina beat up and threw caution to the wind with his reckless determination tho. Team DAI Gurren has been formed~ So many new faces inspired by the Hijacking Rebellion! More knowledge about Lagann's takeover ability and that KaminaXYoko ship I don't really feel. The Volcano has erupted and the fight of a lifetime is about to begin. |

| Kamina was very reckless but it somehow worked. He really needs to be more careful from now on though. Simon really came through in this episode, that was great thinking by him. They made a lot of good allies by the looks of it. Kinda funny how Kamina is the one who says i'm fired up, Simon has the same VA as Natsu Dragneel. |

| Man this was a great episode. Action scenes were pretty intense there. Simon did pretty good here too just tricking the moving base into surrounding him and then send it plummeting down below by drilling away the ground it’s on. Looks like the boys and Yoko have gotten themselves an army now and I await to see what happens next with them. Plus the fight scenes with Viral was really cool as well not much to say but it was a great episode all the same. |
| This show has top tier animation. This is basically the top that all animation studios should aim for. I can feel the love behind every scene built and every transition. This is something you don't get in adaptations. An anime original that's built in-house by staff that want to make the show succeed can't ever fail. The lack of realism and cartoonish consequences behind every fight and sequences make it hard to take this show seriously. But maybe I should just should looking for realism and just enjoy the show. The way the mechs just repair themselves from "spirit" is really funny tho. Really make you want to think of them as living creatures and part of the crew like a gigantic pokemon. |
