The February 2017 issue of Monthly Shounen magazine, which goes on sale on January 6, 2017, will announce that manga Ballroom e Youkoso (Welcome to the Ballroom) will receive an anime adaptation.

Synopsis
Fujita has drifted through middle school aimlessly, unable to find friends or anything that can hold his attention. Then, one day, he's attacked by a gang and saved by a mysterious man. But this isn't a karate master; it's a ballroom dance instructor! Reluctantly, Fujita takes a few beginner's classes, only to find his inspiration... an entrancing, teenage dance prodigy named Shizuku. It's Fujita's first step into the high-octane world of competitive dance! (Source: Kodansha Comics USA)

Ballroom e Youkoso is drawn by Tomo Takuchi and began publishing in Monthly Shonen Magazine in November 2011. Kodansha published eight volumes as of October 2015. The series was nominated for the 6th and 8th Manga Taisho Awards in 2013 and 2015, and placed ninth in the male readers category in 2013 edition of "Kono Manga ga Sugoi!" Kodansha Comics USA released the second volume in English in November of this year.

I am beyond hyped! I've been telling people all year that I wish this got an anime. And it finally did. O_O
Not sure which studio can successfully adapt this though. Maybe Bones, or Production IG.

Pretty excited about this! I hope they give it to a good studio. Personally, I think Production IG could make this work but who knows. Still excited as it's one of my favorite manga series from recent years.

Sounds like Yuri on Ice minus the Ice. Question is, is it equally homoerotic or not? :s

Nice! I've been reading the manga for a while now. Hopefully the anime will be able to nail the dance scenes.

Oh this looks really interesting, wonder how the ballroom instructor saves him. Hopefully the dancing will be nicely animated.

I bought the manga finally when it was released (I'd been waiting so long), and I just LOVE IT. The story, characters, progression of the story is just amazing! I've been hoping this would get an anime adaptation for so long and FINALLY IT HAPPENS BOISSS

Man I'm so hyped, thank you for the English release of the manga and thank you for announcing the adaptation of it.

2017 IS GONNA BE LIT

I hope the studio in charge of the adaption will do the intense and amazingly drawn dance scenes justice.

Nice, I had this manga on my list for years and it sure is good to see it getting a show. Wouldn't mind the Yuri on Ice staff for this, btw - their ice skatign choreographies were great and they certainly could do fine work here, too.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!
The manga isn't even finished yet, I don't want an original ending for this adaptation, I want this as close as the original source.
Hope there will be season 2, please either Madhouse or Bones to adapt this

Please be IG, WIT, Bones, Mappa, Madhouse or JC Staff. Please don't be A1.

Super excited about these news, won't be able to relax until I find out who's making it, if it's a1 then my hype is dead.

It's been confirmed to be done by Production IG.
I haven't read the manga though I've heard about it for a while, mostly good things. Seems interesting enough.

Yep. Was about to post it here:

Staff

Director : Yoshimi Itazu
Character Design : Takahiro Kishida
Screenplay : Kenichi Suemitsu
Music : Yuuki Hayashi
Studio : Production I.G

Really great news. I.G is my favorite studio right now and they're really consistent in their animation quality so this kinda get my hopes up. Plus the music is done by Hayashi Yuuki so this is pretty high up on my radar for the Summer season.
