| Was the movie based on the manga? I'd also like to know if the manga goes beyond the movie, like after the ending. And I'm confused about if the manga really ongoing, or has it been completed? Information about the manga online is somewhat scarce, and every time I google it I get articles raving about the movie. (Just for reference I haven't read it yet, or any manga for that matter, but I just would like to know) |

| According to Wikipedia, Makoto Shinkai wrote a novel "Your name" and both the anime and the manga is based on that novel. |
| I prefer to only read hard copies and I know the hard copy of volume 1 of the manga isn't coming out until June 20th. I plan to pre-order it and read it, but I'm actually wondering, why isn't there an entry on this site for the light novel? |

| Only saw the movie once and just finished the manga. Basically the manga is a retelling of the movie, but some elements are condensed, e.g. when Mitsuka hikes with Yotsuya and their grandmother to leave the kuchikamizake. |
