Everything I want to watch on T.V I can find online so I don't really see the point. I can always hook my laptop up to my T.V if I want a bigger screen, but I like multi-tasking.

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself."

My parents do but I mostly watch everything online now. But there's something nice with watching your favourite shows every week when the new episode airs. Wait...commercials...never mind.

Mostly via Netflix & web based platform. That being said, I'll catch some airing stuff on tv, but immediately begin to cycle between channels during commercial breaks. That's the part I can't stand about regular tv, it's rife with ads. Hulu sucks in that sense too, the fact that the regular subscription was so full of ads, last I checked, and thus I loathe it in that same aspect as airing television.

Yes I do for soms tv-shows I follow though not as much as I used to. Netflix and YouTube has taken over.

I watch so little of tv these days. Maybe just the NHK world channel and that's about it.

Never, when I was a kid, yes. But now, never. It's just a brainwashing device meant to hypnotize the public making us into slaves of the Illuminati. Oh shit there are police now at my door, we're all doomed!!

I rarely ever watch TV anymore. I only get a handful of channel's in my TV and the majority of them air absolute garbage. The only time I used it recently was to binge a Breaking Bad marathon. I tend to just use Netflix or Hulu now.

I frequent TV I guess. Probably 2-3 settings per week. Never had time for TV much, though I'd always check if they air something decent on MBC.

Well, just maybe sports, but most of what I watch on TV is On Demand videos, or what I have recorded off DirectTv's recording function.

Sure, but not a lot. The only shows that I truly follow are Game of Thrones, Steven Universe, and Mountain Monsters (seriously, that show is hilarious because of how silly it is) but I often find other things to put my television on, even if i'm sometimes not really watching them (for example, having my TV on just for the sake of background noise or a light source). Those usually include game shows, ghost shows, cooking shows, or some cartoons that I grew up with (like Rugrats).

I forgot the last time that I remain seated in front of TV to watch a show. I stopped paying my subscriptions on TV like 2 years ago.

Sure, I've watched some YouTube videos on Smart TVs but you can't really call that as 'watching TV'.

At least justify your opinions instead of just saying "it's my opinion". It would've been more polite.

Then there are VOD services. They're the same.

VOD doesn't look as good as cable and doesn't always get the shows at the same time. Season 2 of Better Call Saul still isn't on Netflix. Netflix has issues and I've heard bad stories about HBO Go. The services aren't comprehensive enough. If you wanna watch all the appealing shows in a season, you may have to pay for several subscriptions, which could be more expensive than cable.

Cable doesn't give you such freedom. I'm not talking about freedom of watching what you went when you want, versus letting a machine decide for you the time.

Hey, since we are all anime fans here, isn't watching anime just the same as watching television? Most of our anime are coming from tv in Japan

No, the only thing I would watch it for are documentaries or sports if I was interested in watching sports. I've been considering getting a radio for background noise, though. There's some non-propaganda local info stuff that might be interesting and maybe tune in on some music channel, since I'm a bit bored on youtube and my hdd only has a couple of anime/game osts these days.
