| I think the reason he registers as level 1 is because the measuring devices can't go that high, or the god cast a spell on him that conceals his true level. If the contract was 8:2, it is likely his level is in the 4000 range. That is god territory seeing as the highest level humans are barely in the 900s. His only deficiency is that he is new to this world, and has no experience with magic. |

Edit: I just realized while reading the LN that it probably is because of the ring that's sucking all of his energy... it makes him look like he has no power even though he probably has infinity. Yeah, the way they measure level probably has something to do with mana measuring and that get interfered by the ring. |
