| I know. I really like the girl, but I'm kinda scared for her. Especially when he said he noticed her gaining weight in Ch. 2 but kept trying to make her overeat for the sake of his fetish. That's unhealthy on so many levels. I was hoping to see a manga that dealt with the concept of "being fat" in a less outrageous light, I guess. |

| At first I thought Tagami was just a crazy little pervert but as the manga continues and the story develops further you get to see that although he may be quite expressive about his preference, he genuinely likes and grows to love our Mugi chan. He also learns how to keep his dramatically outward expression of his lust for her in check-at least in public. hehe And as the manga goes on we also get to see the question of weight and esteem being tackled and being tackled beautifully at that. As a girl in the same shoes as Mugi - "plus-size" in a world obsessed with thigh gaps and A-4 waistlines, and one who has gotten to experience first hand how girls like me are viewed in Asia, I am pretty happy with this manga and very happy to see that it got published and read in this part of the world. I find it speaks to and speaks for "a person like me". I recommend giving it another shot if you had quit. |
