Rozen maiden anime or manga?

I started watching rozen maiden (2004) and i'm currently on chapter 7, i have been getting the feeling that things are somewhat rushed. i havent touched the manga so i don't know how faithful this adaptation is and my question is: does the anime cover the manga entirely without skipping parts?

I know from my experience with the anime the first season of the anime(2004) is pretty accurate with the manga. However season 2 of the 2004 version deviates from the manga. For example the creator of the rozen maid doll's apprentice creates a doll to prove his doll is better than the other 5 rozen dolls. That plot point is not with the manga.
