The official Twitter account of the currently airing TV anime Nanbaka has announced that the anime will receive second season, starting from the fourteenth episode. Instead of continue airing on TV, it will only be available on online services. The second season will premiere on dTV on January 4, 2017, while other online services such as Nico Nico Douga will stream it beginning January 7, 2017.

The series is drawn by Shou Futamata and has been publishing on the comico manga reader platform since 2013. The first compiled manga volume went on sale on November 12. Crunchyroll began publishing the manga digitally since December 2015.

This is just the beginning, streaming sales are on fire and TV is just a loss of money now for late night series.
Expect alot of more series to ditch TV and go exclusively online.

What's dTV? I've never heard of that. Where would I find it?

Pretty happy about this news honestly. That just means I would have to binge season 1 since I did like it but I wanted to wait until I get more.

Weow interesting... couldn't actually care about this news honestly. As I don't care for the anime unless they pull up their content. :)

Worst news in 2016

Sad to see one of the worst anime in this season get another season, while the good anime never gets another one.

I hope we get 2nd season for prison school someday.

Well I don't wanna sound rude but the worst news in 2016 was Berserk 2016 honesty... xD But that's just my opinion.

Is that really a "Second Season" if it didn't take a break?
Don't tell me MAL would stupidly split it again?

Looks like this anime went the route of the future (Well in Japan, streaming is already the future in the US and EU). I'm just here for the progress as Japan usually is lagging in the streaming category for anime despite having quite a few services available to stream anime.

Obviously they will split it. That's why I said it's stupid.

It's not second season, it's continuation.
They are just gonna do a webcast instead of broadcast.

Well, it's not about your opinion. I, for example, don't know how Prison School is considered a "great anime". People have different taste, and Nanbaka seems to be received well enough for a second season/continuation.

In the second season of Prison Break, they're already out of prison but the title works once you realize society is a prison.

Well the series started out average, but I guess it's picking up now. Not exactly 'player's about the continuation, but i'll watch it. (Also come on guys, stop whining about a second season of prison school. You can barely compare the two)
damn, the forums these days...

The only way you can compare the two is the prison setting honestly, but thats the only thing you can compare... besides that yeah you can barely compare them based on a lot of stuff at hand tho. Honestly.

The original news source calls it "アニメ第2期シリーズ" which translates to "anime season 2 series".
Who cares about how they call it? It should called second cour not a separate season.
You can't call it a Season 2 if it didn't have a break.

Exactly. I don't see why everyone is comparing the two and saying prison school should have received a sequel. It's not even the same studio....

Staff wise (as far as I'm concerned)
Studio wise
and Just execution in general for these two.

They're just TOO different to even be compared, if it at least had some other similarities I think it would be justified but, there's almost nothing to compare them. They're vastly different in how they're doing things.

This is great news! Nanbaka actually has a decent story, and doesn't go to stupid ecchi/fanservice route. Comedy and action are well-balanced, not to mention the characters are what's so great about this series. I wonder if the people who hates it, dropped after only a few episodes? Cause the series is fucking great at this time.
