| I don't want to spoil anything for you, so let me try my best to explain. This show focuses on the romance between characters and the love triangle. There are only two female interests so it's not a "collect them all" harem and doesn't follow the harem tropes of goofy fanservice with unprogressing romance. Its hard to explain why things work out without larger spoilers but the show is way more focused on drama and romance than anything else. I would say give an episode or two a try and that will give you a good idea of what the feeling of the show is because it is pretty consistent throughout. |

Yeah main character is pretty immoral but unlike School Days' Makoto you spend a lot of time with him pondering the consequences/immorality of his actions before he commits so you get the full emotional experience from his shoes. It's actually a pretty standard romance until it becomes a lover triangle. The whole point of why White Album 2 is good is just how realistic each character's respective actions are and how you can see something like this happening in real life. It basically depicts the breakdown of a friendship purely from the clash of personalities with each character taking individual action to benefit themselves even though they know it damages their friendship in the long run. Just watch it on the basis that it's my third favourite anime of all time please. |

You can have a look at my list just to get a picture of what romance genres I enjoy :P Honestly, there's just not really anthing else like it. The other anime you have watched generally have the protagonist and a female character develop romance through their interactions. You don't watch White Album 2 for the romance; that's nothing special. You watch it for the drama, you watch it for the feels, you watch if for wanting redemption for people saying Clannad After Story would make you cry when it didn't. You probably won't find anything remotely close to White Album 2. |
