so im not saying theres anything inherently wrong with that if it makes you happy, im just saying in the long run thinking that way is going to bite you in the ass

plus theres all sorts of studies that show thats its not good for the human mind and body to never want to interact

Could be like a friend of mine, he has a medically diagnosed disorder that makes him not give a shit about social interaction, the only way you can get him to interact with you is out of necessity or by sharing his interest otherwise he just doesn't give a shit.
When he was diagnosed he didn't even bother talking to the counselor and just started pulling devices in the room apart and trying to work out how they worked.

HyperL, please just ignore what Vosgy is saying. You don't have any disorder, that's just your personality.

OP, you should start running while you're still growing up or you will regret it later.

even though its not why i got into anime nor why i watch anime, i've been down the "people suck" road.. and even though i like to be alone, i don't actually hate ppl in general, i just hate assholes and excessive trolling. so im actually really glad i found a job that forces me to interact with strangers and ran into so many shameless ppl in my life

25-30 episodes a day??
Wow... i think the most i've watched per day is around 15 episodes (and just on holidays) because i start to feel tired.

Like the others said you should do another activities. Spending more than 8 hours per day sitting or laying down, will give you a lot of problems in the future xD

Any who, on topic.
I was watching around 20-30 episodes a day in High school, but I also did zero home work, as I got it all done within school hours.
Though I also couldn't keep that rate up as early to mid 2000's anime availability in Australia was shit, so a lot of the time it was re-watching shows over and over o0

It is really something but it is definitely not beneficial.

In my experience I have school for 7:00 am to 6:00 pm after that I'll go to a net cafe and play league up to 11:00 pm while downloading anime and movies and went back home I still watch up to 2:00 am and just repeated everyday. And on my free days I go play league from 8:00 am up to 1:00 am and after going home I'll just watch watch and watch until I fall asleep without me noticing.

I did that for almost 3 years and the result was me, who before can finish 10k runs and now can't even go for 1k, was someone that had a good social life now turned to somebody who has low social skills. And when all the stress came up to me it made me suffer anthropophobia which leads me to my current situation of being a shut in for more than a year. The only stuff that were consistent for me was grades and watching anime.

So, yeah, it is amazing in some ways spending lots if time and energy watching lots of episodes a day, but when it backfires or when a huge bad turn in your life happens it will really cost you.

I don't know if it helps or something, either way sharing here makes me more confident that I can go back on a normal life again. ^^

See? You didn't take the "I genuinely don't care about them" for real, although I badly explained it...Let me clarify begging with a impactiful statment...

I don't care about being social...You see, I just don't say that I don't care about it because I'm bad at it, it's because my mind has little to no interest in real life affairs...Ever since anime, videogames and the internet became my only sources of entertainment, almost anything else in this world matters...Like, seriously, my motivation for studying, fidind work and becoming a man that can sustain himself is so I can keep entertaining myself like I always have since Middle school...

This is a pretty classic rationalization for anti-social behavior, whether you are able to admit it or not.

That's more rationalization. If you spend all of your free time by yourself watching cartoons and have no interest in making social connections, that's anti-social.

I used to watch a minimum of 33 episodes of anime on school days with school (including travelling time) going from 7:50am to 4:20pm. (On days without school it was minimum 50 episodes. Now I watch 6-8 episodes on school days and 12-26 episodes on days without school WITH the rest filled with Manga and light novels. It's not insane, I think it's fine. If you enjoy it then leave it as that. If you watch some anime with 1.5x-2x faster then you can watch a lot in a small period of time.

Yo this is insane. If you keep this up you will not be a well rounded person. If you want to be a loner forever that's fine but most people have larger aspirations than watching hours of anime everyday by themselves.

Hm, I think it's a bit much. It would be better if you devoted somewhat more time to studying, as well as eating and exercise, so that you stay healthy. Even if you have a lot of free time and there are no tests coming up, it's still good to not just watch anime all day long. It would be good to hang out with friends or read a book or sleep more.

For me, I normally only watch about 0-3 episodes a day on normal school days and up to around 10 on weekends depending on how much homework I have.

He may be happy now (I doubt it, why would he create this thread if he was?) but there's a really high probability that this lifestyle wont lead him to happiness in the future. Its not healthy to do ANYTHING for 10 hours a day, let alone watch cartoons. People need balance and social interaction, that's just science.

So the other day a friend told me that I consume to much anime in a day (if you want just check my profile & history) I'm 16 (junior in H.S.) so I don't a lot of time constraints such as work, etc but I do go to school from 9am-2pm and I usually complete about 1/2 of my homework in school but somehow I seem to watch 25-30 episodes a day on regular school days and about 35-40 episodes a day on breaks. Is that too much? How many episodes can you watch in a day?
Nah it's fine.
If you have nothing better to do, then what's wrong with spending your free time watching anime? So what if you don't want to socialize? It's fine, just do whatever you want in your free time. Once you become an adult and start to work, you will not be able to do that anymore. So just watch all you want.

jk, but I think like going out at least on weekends is normal(thats what I remember doing) and helps creating bonds and connections you might find valuable(in all ways) in the future.

Reading a lot of these posts just makes me sad. Has society really brainwashed so many of you that you truly believe that all humans need to "get out more" and "interact with people" to be healthy. For some people they can't handle not having interaction, me on the other hand, I don't care for it. I have real life friends and have had several girlfriends and my social skills are above average for sure. I almost never leave my house now days. I'm as happy as I've ever been, no I don't watch anime for 20 hours but there are other hobbies that I do for close to that long that involve me being on the computer. The only real issue I see with my situation is lack of exercise, even though I'm skinny I know it's not good for my long term health regardless. The OP at least walks around a bit and goes to school etc. If he graduates and sits 20 hours a day doing nothing but watching anime and goes poor and doesn't get a job then YES it becomes a problem - but since he's not skipping school or anything or skipping hw we have no reason to assume he would do anything like that with work or uni or whatever he persuits in life.

TLDR; LIVE YOUR LIFE HOW YOU WANT. DON'T LET PEOPLE TELL WHAT'S BAD FOR YOU BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW SHIT AND SOCIETY HAS BRAINWASHED TOO MANY OF THESE SHEEP.

As with everyone I see with that kind of rate, I must ask:
"Do you even have any other interests?"

I struggle to consistently consume 4 or 5 episodes a day. (Well, not an actual struggle, I just don't watch that much). The only exception is during a lazy weekend or I'm binging a series to it's end. But my interests are split between anime, manga, gaming, youtube (Making videos and watching videos), some movies, and this forum at times. With that in mind, it's somewhat impressive I even consume the amount that I do.

I once managed to marathon 80-90 episodes over 2 days of no sleep in a weekend in my darker days.
Don't learn from me though... exercise, sleep, eat well, or else in a few years you won't even enjoy what you do anymore, and that is the worst after you get accustomed to consuming and don't know what else to do with your free time.

They're right, that is insane. Slow down, mate. You need time to actually live. I feel lucky when I can get 5 episodes in.

25-30 episodes a day... that's cute, I'm lucky to hit that a month lately, you'd think earning money and having a fiancee would be great, but then you realize your anime watching is slowly becoming nonexistent and your questioning whether marriage or having a full time job is really for you xD

Right for one thing, you CAN DO whatever you want with your free time. It's not your friend's issue that you watch a lot of anime.

Here's my take: I used to watch 18-25 episodes per day after school. But then I started to have to make dinner because my mom is allergic to gluten, and neither parent wanted to cook and I was sick of it. But I can see how you can do it. So I was only able to watch maybe 10-15. That's still a lot mind you. Now I can only manage 9 a day. I have full time work though. In high school I could get hundreds watched a year. And 400 episodes in a month. It is insane but it's okay, we're all in the same boat here. And I happens when you first start watching anime. It's not any different than that person watching football and all that other shit or reading a book a day, marathoning tv series all thetime or those people who play a video game in a week.
