If season 1 had a satisfying conclusion and its story ended, I wouldn't watch the bad 2nd season (gundam seed and destiny) or (psycho pass 1 and 2), but if season 2 picks right up after season 1 to continue the story then I watch both just to have a conclusion (gundam 00 seasons 1 and 2)

If it seems like a promising series I would give it a chance and if I am curious about its continuation I would watch the second season as well.

I didn't watch Psycho pass 2 not because the fans told how it sucks but because the first season wasn't that good to begin with.

Watch it and decide on your own, just because the majority says it ain't good doesn't mean that you'll 100% dislike it. Give it a try and decide on ur own.

Watch season 1, then depending on what you want from the second season make your decision to either watch or not watch.

Personally, i would not watch a second season if it was either a) in-congruent to the first season, or b) I didn't like the first season. From the options in your poll, i gather that you haven't watched either season, so make up your mind based off the first season. If nothing else, you'll have watched a single season of good anime.

The best example is Arslan Senki.

The first season was one of the best Fantasy anime I've watched. I expected something bigger in the 2nd season. But each episode felt like a filler.

It probably won't have a 3rd season that would be more interesting than S2.

Watch both and form your own opinion of each. If you end up not liking the second season as much of a show that you really liked anyways then it's not much of a loss, considering you got to see those characters and setting some more.

If it were a show you didn't like much anyways then it'd make sense to avoid the sequel season.

Actually, a situation to avoid the second season entirely that works in your case is if it's a completely different, or utterly bad adaption of something that wouldn't be of any benefit to watch (whereas reading the source material to continue the journey would be a better choice). Just as an example, one would be Berserk and Berserk 2016. I would probably still watch though to absorb more content, but that's me.

In the end it's all up to you, but the repercussions aren't all that bad anyways.

This guy knows what's up. I went into the second season of Haruhi expecting major failure given all that I'd heard about Endless Eight; but I actually enjoyed it, as it was still a chance to spend time with characters I liked and to see them develop more from the first season.

Try watching the show and making up your own mind rather than possibly missing out on something you'll enjoy. Only you can know whether you enjoy something: just because rabid fans disliked something doesn't mean you will too.

I dropped season 2 of Minami-Ke because it was unwatchable trash, but seasons 1, 3 (best) and 4 were all great.

It depends if there's more of a plot than that, naturally. For example, if I hadn't already read the Grisaia no Kajitsu visual novel, I'd never watch the adaptations of Meikyuu and Rakuen (between-season special and season 2)
And I fully understand anyone who dropped Grisaia no Kajitsu (as they should) and didn't watch the rest, even if the rest was great.

Watch both, but acknowledge which is good and which sucks while accepting that the narrative is tuned and that you'll probably never revisit this, despite some decent memories of season 1. That's how I felt about Gundam 00. First season was pretty good for most part. It has some decent characters and a mostly alright plot. Season 2 sacrificed all plot integrity a long time ago, and what it had to show for it are horribly uncompelling and unworthy characters. I still watched both, and acknowledge that season 1 was fine, but that my experience with the show (of I ever go back) may never be the same due to the crap that lies past season 1. Funny enough, this also applies to Haruhi. Season 1 was perfectly fine, btnseason 2 ruined characterization, presented a damning plothole, and was a tedious and frustrating experience from the 3rd episode of the Endless 8 all the way down to the season finale itself.

How would you know that S2 was bad if you just read what were in the comments/review that you read? All of us knew that it is subjective yet we're still affected by it? That's just plain dumb. Don't expect anything then be rewarded or be disappointed after finishing. That's all there is to it. Well, as far as I have already watched, OreImo S2 was not rewarding as S1.

Well, I don't watch shows for other people I watch them for myself and make up my own mind on it. I'd watch it as long as I feel like it and rate it whatever I want, even if I'm the only one who thinks it's good.

it's depend...

if it's adaptation, and it because fail adaptatation, i would go to original souce if exist.. if not, i will ignored the bad season...

if original, if there is certain point better to stopping, i would do that, but if the whole series is about ending, i would watching it regardless...

You read the manga.
In all seriousness though, it depends on how the S1 ended, and whether or not I have anything else to watch. If I feel like S1 had a good ending, then I wont bother with S2. But if the cravings get too strong, I'll give S2 a chance, despite what anyone says. Besides, in some cases S2 is better than S1.

I would listen to the fans because they're clearly right and there's no way I could generate my own opinion from watching it myself.

On a serious note, just drop the show, no one is forcing you to finish. There is no obligation to finish a sequel just because you finished the previous title.

According to the fans both seasons of SAO are great :)

OT: Watching both seasons and judge it for yourself is always the best thing to do. However i do am a bit skeptical about watching psycho pass season 2 considering what most people been saing about it.

If MOST people claim Season 2 is bad, something must indeed be bad in it...I feel like going through both Seasons just to arrive on that problem would make the journey less rewarding...

If S2 is really really bad compared to S1, i will probably give it a try, and then it depends if i complete S2 or not

Fans saying something is one thing, what you ultimately think of the series is another matter entirely. In this case, treat the seasons as separate entities and drop either one if you don't like it. No harm in trying right?

I like to watch the complete show.
There are two outcomes for me:
1) It wasn't as bad as people say
2) I grudgingly watch it and ether resent the season or pretend it doesn't exist.
