It's been exactly 5 years since Guilty Crown premiered... I'm getting old.
This anime might not be the best, story wise for many, but I found it entertaining and enjoyed my time watching. The part I like the most about Guilty Crown is of course, the OST by Sawano, and the OP and ED by ryo (Supercell and Egoist), especially My Dearest.
5 years might not be that long ago for some, but it was the time I really started following seasonal anime, such as this one. I might plan to rewatch it just for nostalgia. Are you? :p

Yeah I tend to go back and watch old shows just for nostalgia quite a bit and I definitely need to do it for Guilty Crown as well :p

It's only been about 3 years since I've seen it but I still feel a bit nostalgic thinking of my memories in high school during that time and with it being one of the very first anime I've seen, and the soundtrack and animation was great.

2nd Opening is still my top favorite anime OP ^^

Time sure flies. Since I am such a huge fan, I was never able to truly let it go. I just see so much potential in the show and feel saddened that the author seemingly gave up on it so easily.

I have taken it upon myself to write a sequel the anime deserved, yet never got. 400k+ words in and still only a little over halfway done. If anyone is interested, check out "Reclaiming the Throne" on fanfiction.net. (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8897975/1/Reclaiming-the-Throne)
The first 4 chapters are a bit slow as they are just the buildup that connects the anime with the sequel. Once you reach chapter 5, the story truly kicks off. I refuse to let GC die! I have enough material to keep writing for at least two more years.

I sing for my people, I sing for my friends
I sing for justice, so that the world finally ends
I sing for my father who rests high above
and also for my mother who I deeply love
But as I sing I wonder, what is it for?
when there is no one who sings for me anymore...

EGOIST is still alive, and Inori still remain in my heart as the best waifu ever.

Listened to Supercell again today and got nostalgic when "My Dearest" started playing. 'S much as I dislike the characters and plot, Guilty Crown sure had some of the best themes and animation. Maybe one of these days I'll actually rewatch it just to experience the times again.
