High CPU and memory usage on MAL pages

This is something that I've noticed for a while and I've decided to bring it up here. When I have MyAnimeList pages open they tend to use a ton of memory, usually 300MB-500MB per page or group of pages (based on Google Chrome's task manager). They can commonly reach up to 1.5GB-1.8GB of memory at their worst. Sometimes the CPU usage will stay around 30% just for a Google Chrome process containing MyAnimeList pages. These number seem way too high and I assume they are not expected to use this many resources. Has anyone experienced this?

EDIT: Funny enough this page was using 1.7 GB of memory:

Just how many tabs are opened having MAL on your browser?
If you are not using/disabling adblock, your laptop/desktop is toast.
Haters always gonna hate.

I only have 1-3 tabs of MAL open at a time. I use Adblock but whitelist MAL. My desktop can handle the memory usage at its worst but the CPU usage is way too high for a tab or two. Figured it might have been a bug so that's why I made this post.

@skyrocketing
Does the page with MAL reloads every few minutes?

I can't say for sure, the tabs are usually just in the background so I wouldn't notice. Another thing to add is that sometimes the page will crash in the background (crash in Chrome).

Try other browsers. Maybe it's just chrome being a terrible browser.

Nope. Try adblocking maybe. Might also be a virus, or your chrome is fked up (reinstall)
Be thankful for the wisdom granted to you.

@skyrocketing Your ram is just tasty. ;)
300MB-500MB

My firefox 49 (I think it's 32bit - so max ~4gb Ram usage) used ~600 MB... on all pages.
After allowing scripts on 2-4 mal pages it tooks more 100-200 MB.

Meh, change browser or delete scripts (NoScript maybe?).
If one normal (not youtube or sites with "heavy" content) page takes 500 MB then 2GB is not insane.

ps. I heard browsers eats a lot of ram nowadays and I heard Chrome is the biggest glutton.

Chrome has gotten really bad with the RAM usage. Opera seemed like the fastest browser to me out of the popular ones so if you don't rely on extensions it may be a good choice for you

My suggestions for touching up Chrome:
Reinstall Chrome
Remove extensions from Chrome you don't need or look unfamiliar
Install these extensions: Adblock, Flashblock, Noscript

Also consider for better speed overall:
Disc Cleanup default ap
Disc Defrag default ap (unless your hard drive is a solid state drive)
Install the Ccleaner ap (free) then go to Tools -> Startup, turn off aps starting up you don't need on at all times
Install Avast free version, fully scan computer, then uninstall
Install MalWare bytes free version, fully scan computer (you can leave this installed unless you want to use Avast)
Check programs/aps, uninstall unnecessary stuff that you 100% know you don't need
Delete unnecessary videos, folders, and games, then empty Recycle bin after (sometimes makes a difference)
