During Jupiter Jazz part 2, Vicious, after Lin sacrifices himself to save him, looks at his corpse and says "There is nothing in this world to believe in" What was he referring to?

He's a nihilist and has almost no regards for anything worldly. So, when Lin sacrifices himself for Loyalty or Duty or Honor or whatever, Vicious doesn't see the point or the nobility in it. He is no saint or leader to bet your life on and neither is the syndicate. And to him, even his own life isn't worth saving. Everything is meaningless and there is nothing there to believe in.

So...what's his reason to keep living, if he's so disdainful towards life and everything in it?

That's unclear, but he holds some grudges towards Spike and wants to lead the syndicate.

Or maybe, like many other nihilists, he just lives. He doesn't need a reason. He just goes with it.

Interesting. I haven't finished the series yet (just at session 13) so do they explore further Vicious' view of the world in other episodes? Like what he thinks of Spike's obsessions or how he feels about religion or what are his goals with being in the red dragon?

he's pretty much lives up to his name personality wise and nothing really does matter to him in reaching his goals
