As more and more animes have been made,I have discovered that some new animes are trying to use out-dated,cliche storyline. For instance,Qualidea Code used aliens VS humans, these stupid and out-dated ideas as their main plot;Taboo Tattoo use superpower tattoos as their story setting,it feels so old and cliche to me.Above all,it seems the story of the new animes are becoming cliche recently.Do you agree my ideas?
Also,I want to point out that I didn't say cliche animes are trash.Cliche anime could have good plot and character development,I just want to point out my observation that the number of cliché animes are increasing.
Please discuss on the topic only and stop assaulting my anime history or my anime rating are shit or making improper assumptions. These are off-topic arguements and won't bring any contribution on this topic.
You mean to tell me that when you first started watching anime, all these ideas felt new and fresh to you, but after watching anime for a while you're starting to notice patterns?
Do tell me more.
Also, you're clearly not watching a diverse selection of anime if you think new ideas aren't still being made.
It's like you've never seen Junketsu No Maria or Samurai Flamenco.
Ok,sure.
I think the part that recent animes are cliche is NOT the plot development,i think it is fine. What I think is cliche is the setting or the ideas.
I just mentioned Qualidea Code and Taboo Tattoo as an example, they have same setting and characters are similar also, therefore I think they are cliche overall
So the way the PLOT DEVELOPS is not cliche.
But the SETTINGS are similar? You sure?
Taboo Tatoo is a military shounen with a focus on close combat fighting and gimmiks for fights. Is there anything else really like that?
The way the plot develops with the protagonist realizing growing into a fighter, and going through training has been done before. The plot development of the united states making a mistake that needs to be fixed by covert government officials has not been done before.
It's a mix of old and new, but feels similar because it loves shounen and how emotive it can be.
Qualidea Code's setting is pretty unique though. Class Warfare with Alien monsters mixed in. Honestly, the only other anime that I know of where entire classes of people were competiting with each other in the same way as qualidea code does is... Actually I can't think of anything. Absolute Duo and Rakudai had smaller groups. These are entire classes competing against entire classes. That's different in my book.
This is my point of view,it is copy and pasted from my review:
[First Impression]
The ideas in Qualidea code aren't refreshing and new.The story is based on a bunch of human characters fighting against alien creatures "unknowns".Most popular anime or movie series, like world trigger or other sci-fi animes or movies have already used such settings so why we are still seeing them in this anime?I won't say cliche is a bad thing but have they at least try to make something new?About the plot,The story is based on human characters doing different missions, that's it,it's just too simple that I cannot further elaborate.
For the reason why Taboo Tattoo is cliche, please take a look on Taboo tattoo Luxanity's review,it states the reason why Taboo Tattoo is cliche.
Perhaps you have different opinions, but this is my opinion, you can feel free to ignore it.
What now way... humans fighting aliens is so basic that it'd be weird if that plot wasn't already done before.
Also that review just says that Taboo Tattoo has basic shounen tropes. Like all SHOUNEN anime EVER.
That's like saying One Piece and Bleach are the same.
