More like "Natsume Shingo did it, we helped" but at this point I might as well embrace this meme.

1. It's not up to Madhouse

2. The production committee is completely different

3. Madhouse is only a shadow of its former self so many of the staff that worked on it moved to other studios or went freelance :)

But yeah guess we can see another case of "Nastume's book of friends" and how they work their magic :D

It had its crisis but it was like 2 years ago, they are different but in no way inferior.

What crisis are you talking about are you suggesting madhouse is no more good

Oshii is probably the only director that loves dogs. He thinks he's a dog himself.

That's right, its slime! It will dissolve your clothing slowly before my eyes!

Man did Christmas come early? This is amazing news I figured there was enough for a second season. It will probably be 12-13 episodes I wonder where it will end this time. Hopefully right at the start of the Monster Association/Garou arc.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I am truly happy and relieved that they're planning to go steady with the adaptation, on the other hand though... It seems a bit too soon to announce a second season. Murata is just getting started with the Monster Association Arc, and with all the added stuff compared to the original webcomic and the pace at which Murata is releasing new chapters, I can't see the MA arc being finished before something like end of 2018-start of 2019. What's unfolding between the Boros Arc and the MA arc is great, don't get me wrong, they'll have exceptional material to work with such as King and Garou, but it's probable they will dedicate the upcoming season entirely to these in-between chapters. My biggest fear, I guess, is that I can't see them topping season 1 with this. But at the same time, if it's necessary to set up a third season which completely covers up the Monster Association Arc, I'm all for it.

Like you, I'm also hoping that they take the cautious approach with a second season. Just because they announced a 2nd season, doesn't mean production has started and that it will come out this year (2017). Look at Attack on Titan Season 2.

I'm hoping that Murata and One can finish the manga adaptation of the Monster Association arc by mid-2018 (ending with the Garou fight). Currently, we're at Chapter 72 and I'm hoping they wrap it up by Chapter 90. With it being almost one chapter per month, that will be somewhere middle of 2018 and then production (12 to 15 months) can finally start. This will put the anime releasing sometime in 2019.

Honestly, even if the arc extends beyond Chapter 90, anime viewers will benefit immensely. There will be more scenes from chapters to cut down and eliminate the need for fillers. It kinda sucks for Murata and One that their hard (lengthy) work is compressed into a couple of minutes of screen time, but fans can still appreciate their work through purchasing the manga. This leaves anime viewers none the wiser or may even encourage them to pick up the manga.

this gif exactly describe my expression
"You're you. "To be like you..." - it's not so ambiguous as that. No matter what you do, no matter how you change, it doesn't mean a thing. you're just you, no matter what."
