| Waifus are just as real as the internet. They exist on a virtual plane which we consume on our computers in the real world. The fact that people call them Waifus doesn't mean they necessarily believe they're living human beings, nor their 'wives'. It's more like of Character worship, just like people did ever since the Cinema and television became a thing last century. You can even call it Cartoon idols. They idolize the character. If someone believes they are real they suffer from delusions. Idolizing is very common in society. Favorite soccer player? Favorite sportsman or sportswoman? Favorite band or singer? Favorite actor or actress? Favorite historical figure? Heck, even favorite Porn actress or actor.. It's the same thing, just different medium. |
