Cute moments awesome ending song every week and has decent characters. This could have been better..... was waiting on Katori's backstory and why she is scared of knives. It never touched on it. I liked it at first but this anime dragged on while only making minor changes each episode. 5/10

Finally we saw Kotori's mom and she is cute. Too bad that it's over, I liked watch Amaama to Inazuma each week, the SoL anime are always pleasant to watch. Cute and fun as I expected.

Love this series wishing for another season if there will be. Well Its a fluffy lighthearted series, that is good to watch. Through their cooking and eating they connect and understand each others feelings, this kind of thing is the one you'll learn and like in this series, which is an important way of conveying your feelings for someone through conversation while cooking or eating.

I was rather surprised that Kotori's mom actually made an appearance. I thought they were gonna do some whole, "she's here but you'll know how she'll look like" thing.

Anyways, pretty good finale and show overall. It was pretty sweet and relaxing. That's really all I have to say about the show.

The cooking theme got repetitive and made finishing this feel like a chore to me by about the eighth episode. I feel like I watched it more for the subplot than anything, but the anime itself isn't to blame there. Either way, I did enjoy it and there was plenty of "sweetness".

This was a really sweet show. I enjoyed watching it until the very end.

I accidentally voted that I hated this episode but, I loved it. I'm glad that Iida mother showed, that made me happy.

I don't think there needs to be season 2, just because this felt like such a good ending. I give this show a 9/10.

I liked the way Inuzuka-sensei handled the scolding thing in the second half, I'm taking note of that X) But yeah no one likes to be scolded, although it's an interesting switch in pov that the one doing the scolding doesn't like it either, and I'd say it's probably that way for most people.

Overall, a cute and mostly enjoyable show. I really liked it in the beginning, but personally speaking, Tsumugi is not my favorite type of kid character, so it was a bit annoying to watch sometimes. I've worked with kids her age before and have never felt this way about any of them, I think it's because Tsumugi has such a high and energetic voice that I can't deal with her for too long. Anyways, the show had some particularly good parts regarding child-rearing, and I enjoyed watching the way Inuzuka-sensei tried to deal with situations. I mean the food parts were good, but it was repetitive and sort of contributed not much to the story overall except that it was what brought the characters together. And Kotori was alright as a character too. The only thing I liked about her presence was how she was like a parallel to Tsumugi, where she's still a child, but could talk about her problems with being raised in a single-parent family. In terms of child-rearing themed stories, it's solid but didn't do it for me as much as the few others I've encountered.

^highly insightful comment. Kudos, tingy.

I'm a sucker for family themed series; especially so if it's about one parent coping with raising their child (or a situation similar to Barakamon). And while it was a cute show I'd have to agree with the above post and concede that the show didn't have much else going for it. A nice viewing experience but certainly nothing worth following on my end.

Wow, this episode was really nice for a finale. I would really miss watching this show every week.
If ever there would be a sequel I'll watch it. Guess, I'll back reading the manga now soon.
Anyway, I'll rate this anime an 8 (or maybe a 9?) out 10 score over all.

Such a goooooood show, always giving me the feels out of nowhere! I really liked this one, just wish it had less of the cooking scenes. It can be really cute when sensei or Kotori messed up, or when Tsumugi joined in the process, but it's usually just cooking 101.

I like how the drama felt realistic, although it may came off as annoying or cringe sometimes, but I couldn't think of a better way to write it. I also love Tsumugi's voice actress, did a holy job on voicing Tsumugi.

Hopefully this one gets another season soon, I haven't read the manga yet, but looking at the other threads here,

OMG HER MOM ACTUALLY SHOWED UP. FREAKING FINALLY. And both her mom and the teacher awkward. Aside from that, not much but the usual sweetness and heart warming moments.

My one and only complaint about this anime. Tsumugi. Shes cute. Too cute. Way to freaking cute, like they put in way to much effort to make her as cute as possible. So much so that it seemed kind of weird to me, but aside from that, it was pretty good. 8/10

Kotori's mom finally appeared. And she's one fine MILF.

It gave me smiles seeing them cook together. at the same time it hit me with feels. It was enjoyable, but Tsumugi's bad attitude like her being spoiled can be hard to watch. I kinda ship Kotori and Sensei. But I kinda ship Sensei with Kotori's mom as well. Kotori will grow up as beautiful as her mom. I'll miss this series.

I am slightly disappointed that we didn't get more Kotori (*cough* knife issue *cough*). Probably involving the mother would've taken a lot longer though.
Yagi-chi is such a fanboy. XD

Personally I feel that this really is something to watch slowly.
As people have said, it is repetitive in nature AND it's slice of life.

I don't really like slice-of-life anime with cooking food as the main theme cause I find it quite boring but this was alright for the most part. However, I do feel like the show is not for everyone including myself who wants more then just cooking food, cute characters and few meaningful dialogues. But I did enjoy watching the parts where the bond between Sensei and his daughter improve.

I think Tsugumi's character is what made this show interesting at least in the first few episodes. Apart from her, Kotori was okay but Sensei's character was pretty bland or plain as a blank paper in my opinion. I don't even understand what's the big deal with Kotori's mom showing up at the end. It's not like she does anything to make the show more exciting.

Overall a very comfy and enjoyable series, Tsumugi was especially real to life and endearing.
The focus on food in every episode do get tiring after a while, which is why I feel this series lost so much potential. I don't mind food being the thing that bring the characters together, but don't focus half the episode on just the cooking and explaining everything in fine details, there's no need for that. Maybe it's a better fit for the manga so I'll check it out next.
Despite that, I love the characters and every episode warms my cold heart. 7/10

I'm glad Kotori's mother showed up in the end, the scene with all of them eating together was nice.
In overall I feel like this episode kind of lacked the finale feel? It's like some of the threads were left unfinished. There's definitely a lot of potential for a second season there.

I agree that this series was enjoyable. I like episodic animes, but this was too repetitive.
There were plenty of happy and sad moments. I expected more details aboit the struggles of a single father raising his daughter, but this was fine.
I rate this a 8/10, since I like slice-of-life anime but it missed the intimacy. It was nothing special, more like a show to kill time and feel hungry at the same time lol

I kinda regret reading the manga too because it made me disappointed that they didn't adapt the chapters that would have fit the anime MUCH better, giving it a more progressive story instead of several repetitive (and ultimately rather pointless) episodes in the middle.

It would have been so much better had they adapted the chapter about Kotori's knife trauma and then end it with the chapter where Inuzuka is showing his cooking skill progress to Kotori's Mom.

This. There was too much Tsumugi and drawn out cooking. Felt like half the episodes were just Tsumugi being the cute brat she is and her really good father spoiling her. Would've been nice to have some more Kotori or other character episodes instead of being flooded with Tsumugi.

I think this anime sucked big time and I am a fan of slice of life. I felt like it had no point at all, we cooked in all the episodes with no clear objective.
I don't know if it was aimed at teaching single fathers recipes on how to cook to their children.
The emotions were not there which was hard for me to relate, it was all about food and food( shokugeki no souma version 0). The characters were bland, annoying and boring and most of all creepy especially that Tsumugi child and Kotori. I found it also creepy that Kotori's mother had to be introduced in the end, she was the one who was supposed to interact with Inuzuka and his daughter not Kotori.

Kotori and Inuzuka's interaction was bizarre and unacceptable for me, instead the mother should have been there. Did I mention the story made me sleepy ( damn I am a masochist for managing to complete this one). 4/10, they should do next time the one with a single mother like ookami.

I got something really important from this show:

I want to try all the recipes they made.

Really, it made me so hungry every episode. Amaama to Inazuma is clearly nothing fancy and nothing of a masterpiece but just a family-friendly, cooking anime. But it was very cute, relaxing and fun to watch. Except of course those bittersweet moments where Tsumugi would cry, or they would remember Tae, those parts especially made my heart heavy a few times, and in the end thanks to that I came to understand Tsumugi's ocasional bratty behavior. She lost her mother when she already was grown enough to remember her. That must have digged a huge hole in her chest and that it's yet to be closed. Such a small child will always need her mother, Tsumugi doesn't have her anymore. It changed her and even if she doesn't understand too well, it's still hurting the fact that her mother is not coming back home and never will. What child wouldn't become sad and behave differently over such a depressing thing I wonder.

A good thing out of all this is that she has Kouhei. Despite the fact that he's still internally dealing with the lost of his wife, he does his best to make Tsumugi happy, and it's so heartwarming. He's a such a sweet character, a good father, honestly, i don't think someone could ever dislike him.

I'm so so glad that they have Kotori, and later on Shinobu and Yagi to make life a little brighter. Cooking scenes with all of them were pretty entertaining to watch.

Amaama to Inazuma was honestly nothing great but it's worth the time spent on it. It has the same premise every episode, and nothing much happens, but it's cute, soft and entertaining, manages to make you feel sad at times, and teaches you a thing or two about cooking, friendship, and what life is like after losing a loved one. 6/10

Well, what can I say besides that this series managed to be an joyful ride till the end. Mainly thanks to Komugi, who turned out to be one of the most adorable children I've seen in anime.

I doubt it, but I would love to see a second season in the future.

I was kinda expecting something like Papa no Iukoto o Kikinasai! when I started watching this, but unfortunately it ended up being a show that was always too afraid of leaving behind the "sweet" stuff all the time. It was interesting at first but as some people already mentioned it was a bit repetitive in the end, and there was a lack of good presentation with the characters that I'm not sure if the adaptation is to blame, but in any case it could have been better. Still, not a bad anime to watch that doesn't fall to the usual cliche standards of some other shows, and the animation itself was very good.

I was annoyed by Tsumugi in this episode because her character showed how really kids act. That's why I hate kids. But then, eventually, in half way, Inuzuka did a great parenting. I like how he say things to Tsumugi. And yeah. That's a relief.

Kouhei is such a great father character. Instead of letting Tsumugi continue on with her attitude or scold her even more, he sits her down and explains to her that he also doesn't like scolding her. He talked to her in a way that wasn't demeaning or from a place of anger and I loved how they were able to reconcile. This anime does a really good job of portraying the multitude of emotions children go through in a blink of an eye and instead of pushing them aside those emotions are shown in a real way. I can totally see Tsumugi having a tantrum at that restaurant happening in real life, and this anime was able to capture that reality and also a flawed parent in a really great way :)
