Melt Banana are quite awesome, and so are Boris.

I've been into progressive rock recently because of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. I've been listening to King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Yes, Camel and Dire Straits.

That's been my music listening for the past couple of months.

i was expecting a diffrent OP. glad it isnt.
you might wanna check out Stagnation. amazing noise punk band. but i personally cant say i love their studio meterial that much, but seeing them live is amazing! Nozaki fucking shreds!
(might be the same with Quang Duc Asylum, not sure, their live preformance was amazing, but never heard any studio meterial from them)

now in all honestly i am only really familiar with japanese punk.
they got some great Crasher Crust out there if you like some noisy stuff:
Gloom, Zyanose, Lastly, Defector, Dropend, End Of Pullution, Akka, Death Dust Extractor etc.

i also love the band Corrupted. great sludge band, i love both their heavy ass, classic sludgy old material aswell as their new atmospheric material.

There are a number of bands/artists I listen to and would recommend on those.
that's quit awesome list, OP should jump and locked in it.

If you like Midori, you should definitely listen to 385 (Hajime, Midori's keyboardist, was their touring keyboardist when their original one left)

Hajime has his solo project as well

Mariko had a few solo albums as well

Also, you should check out Yureka. They are a local band in my area:

Some other stuff you might also be interested in:

Worst Taste

Extruders

Hyacca

GuruConnect

Limited Express (has gone?)

Dev Cornelius

Tora no Ko Rami

Miketoroizu

That's what comes to mind immediately. If you are interested in Japanese indie music and such, I can show you a lot.

Karasu wa Masshiro is particularly good. If you like Melt-Banana (especially later stuff), you'll probably like Karasu wa Masshiro. They are very different genres but have a similar feel.

If you ever get the chance, I would highly recommend seeing them live too. They put on a great show, and they even bring out their mascot character, Karashi-kun.

Well, my personal favorites would be Babymetal, Ling Tosite Sigure, and Daoko. I also listen to a lot of vocaloid, but artist-wise with vocaloid I am all over the place.
