I've created this club because I love Kendo. It's hard to say why, it's just because this sport is so cool and it hurts and it stinks xD... This is awsome :D. Why do you like it ^^?

hmmm... i have no idea why... maby because i love sharp things... or i like to scream... or i'm masochist... no i think it's wonderfull sport, yes it's realy useless when it comes to fight for your life (becouse you don't have your bokken/shinai/katana allways with you) but kendo help you to chillout, and feel like samurai xD
or something like this...

I love kendo because of Bamboo Blade anime X3
I'd like to hold a shinai in my hands and scream:MEEEN! *.*

I love Kendo because of the atmosphere.... now that I joined my dojo nearly 8 weeks ago, it's like everyone already became a true friend. That must be the real spirit of our beloved way of the sword in modern language simply called Kendo^^

Not to forget the very sportive and meditative character which brings both physical and mental advancements :)

Kendo isn't about winning or losing. This is a live style.

Ditto. Seems to be the age where most of my friends are interested in MMA, and I don't think I can keep up :V
The club I joined did a good job delegating things in practice, and I guess that's part of what attracted me there. That and the screaming.

Oh, and the sensei was a pretty cool guy, too. So were the rest of the senior members. They seemed pretty pleased that so many people were interested this time around - now there are a fairly large number of beginners and bogu members.

oh rly?

don't think so, kendo is useful in fights, only if you have a sword, shinai, long pipe etc. but you usualy don't have one (i hope), i think full contact martial arts are better for this... try hitting with shinai muay-thai user... you will probably lose your shinai. I know that there are some other aspects of usefulness but i need to stop talking about this.

kendo is fun, and that's it :) don't need to be useful

Well, it's best not to get into fights in the first place. Ain't martial arts supposed to be all about bettering yourself?
Practicality aside, like what Art says, it's fun. Moreover, it can be a lifelong thing

Although Bamboo Blade inspired me to search for a Kendo dojo, I really like kendo because it keeps me in balance. Cut your enemy but don't act like a fierce animal. Win your enemy but don't celebrate it. Be sharp but also be relaxed. And of course it really is a good exercise!
