Once you run out of space/they get in your way. So, a lot more than 10.

"You can never have too many figures"

I have 5 figures at the moment, and 3 to be delivered. I plan to have enough to make a throne.

If the figurines are starting to take up all the space, then maybe that's a sign to stop buying figurines.
But of course, you could always sacrifice your bed for extra space for more figurines.

Presumably all of them...why else would you have figurines?

1 is too many already. Watching, reading is ok, having a few books is ok too. But figures ?

Honestly anything less than 5 is enough. I think figures should just be treated as nice little accessories or decorations for a work space (chibi ones work better). Or if you have some sort of "weeb" corner in your living space. Anything more than that is going overboard.

If you're into collecting them, then I would think there wouldn't be a limit. As for myself, I'd be surprised if I had more than five

Basically

Buy as much as you want as long as it doesn't land you in debt or need to borrow from other people.

As long as it's something you enjoy, and you're not skipping out on your rent or not buying food or something, then buy as many as you want. People collect all sorts of things that others might consider "weird," so don't hold back just because of that.

I realize now that when I was little, my parents bought me inuyasha figurines and I would play with them like you'd play with barbies.
As an adult, it seems like a waste just having them sitting around as decoration tbh

i dont think there's a limit too people who enjoy collecting them they will get as many as they want and sell the extra ones as time passes, iv seen people with ALOT more than just 10-20 figures because they have the space

i like collecting them but i dont have a whole lot, maybe 12 right now and they fit on my shelf easy

I currently have 26 figures. So far I don't have my eyes on any currently but I'm sure another will pop up and then I'll HAVE to get it because you know that's how figure collecting rolls. Of course I can't figure out why so many people are really against having figures around here o-o

Wow, there's a lot of negativity in this thread towards a hobby that should surely be right at home in the anime community.

Anyway, I collect figures and merchandise. I have two display cabinets (very outdated photo now though), a small display box and a tall wooden/glass cabinet that I don't have a photo of handy that I keep my collection in.

Somebody I know once joked that once you buy 1 figure, you won't stop until you have 50 lol! XD I won't ever get to 50, though. I don't have the space for all that, lol XD

Edit: I own 5, have two on the way and have 2 on pre order.

You have too many anime figures when the sheer number of them is seriously causing distress in your life

Be that financial, spacial, mental, social...etc.

Depends, if the person is a collector they never have too many. I have 4 decorations in my room. Two scale planes: a boing 767-300 and a harrier av8, they represent my liking for aviation. Two figures: a solid snake that is there because I like video games and a hatsune miku, although she is not an anime she represents my liking for it and Japanese stuff. These two were presents. The only things I bought were the planes. I’m not planning to get any other decoration, in my opinion it would be too much.

Do pokemon, yu-gi-oh and digimon figures count? I still have a lot of them from my childhood but I don't think they are the figurines you're reffering to are they? I mean I don't think I have purchased one in over 10 years and I still keep finding them using up space all over the house.

I have two anime figures... the number may grow over time, but it's going to be a painfully slow process.

But I'd say the only thing that determines its 'limit' is if you run out of space to keep them lol.

Too much is if you have more than you can afford or have the reasonable space for. So whatever would be problematic.

Not sure, I have seen it in store but right now I'm more focused on buying DVDs manga and video games. But I might eventually. There's a really cool Sword Kirby statue I want to. It's $300 though.

Well technically as long as you have the spare cash no amount is too much. Its your money after all to spend on what you enjoy but if you're going by outward appearance I'd say 7+ is the beginnings of a weird amount of anime stuff.

I have one used as desk decoration
