MAL Should allow for + - 0.5 increments for the scoring system

Allowing more specificity for scoring animes/mangas we're watching would lead to more accurate scores.

For example, currently I'm watching 91 days and Mob Psycho and as of right now, I do believe both deserve at least a score of 8 however I enjoy Mob Psycho more and really reckon it should be an 8.5 since I enjoy it slightly more than the latter anime.

Since overall scores are averaged out to 2 decimal places, I don't see a problem behind adding more specificity in our ability to rate what we're watching.

TLDR: let us vote at + - 0.5 instead of whole numbers.

Then you just +/- it on your tags column, simple. This idea has been rejected so the chances of trying are next to zero.
I don't know why people write that they are approachable persons,
if you were you wouldn't be on MAL.

Extended families or lovers on MAL are a farce.

Why am I not surprised that this is coming from someone who only uses half the scale? There actually already is a 0.5 system and it's called "using the full scale that MAL provides". You're allowed to give ratings below 5, believe it or not, and since the weight to your ratings comes from how you use them a 5 doesn't even have to be a bad score.

Although the main idea is an illegal suggestion, I personally think a 12 point scale would be a good idea. Something like having 0 and 11 as additional options would be awesome. I hope that would encourage people to use more of the scale, but even if it doesn't it would still give people a few extra ratings to use.

The favorites which you can sort are enough. Doesn't matter how different your other anime lower in your list with 7 or 8 are. For someone with a super huge list he might later have lots of 7.5 wanting even more different options cause he feels 2 anime are different at 7.5 but 7 too low or 8 too high for one of them requesting 7.25 and 7.75.

But that makes it much harder if there are too many options.

Please see: When Posting a Site Suggestion...
"Add more digits in the rating (e.g. 7,5 instead of the floored 7)"
Implementing this would require some work. Next to that, most people don't use anything lower than 4. If you want to make your ratings more accurate, balance out the entire list by scoring some series down.
