So you're like 15 now???? XD

Because of character count this sentence exists.

Exactly!! Is it wrong or something?

Nope, I'm just reminiscing of how much anime I had seen when I was 15. OMG I'M SO MUCH OLDER o_o then before. I had seen probably as many as you had. XD

Pokémon and Moomin were the first, but it wasn't until DBZ and Evangelion that I really got into anime, and manga too.

Death note literally gave me chunnibyou, when I later recovered I became an weeb, then an anime elitist, and my final evolution regular anime guy.

Digimon was what hooked me as a kid. Compared to everything else a 6 year old could watch, it was so great.

Other than that, Zetsuen no Tempest was the first truly high quality anime (TV show) I watched. Blew me away at first. After that, I think Clannad was what pulled me in for good.

I watched Card caprto sakura, dragon ball, digimon when i was a kid but what got me into anime was Bleach back in 2007.
I can say my taste change a lot, i still like the good old shounen but i don't enjoy as much as i used to.

CLANNAD

I never knew anime could be that 'deep' and emotional. Basically drama anime and KyoAni-Key works are my first 'real' anime. I can say "I've watched Sailor Moon and episodes of Pokemon or Yu Yu Hakusho as a child" but I wasn't really an anime enthusiast then.

Then my Higurashi era. LOL psychological animu spree

The first ones I've ever seen are probably Pokemon, Nagareboshi Gin and some Ghibli films. Of course the Moomin too, if that counts. The first one I consciously watched (as in ''I'm going to watch some anime now'') is Inuyasha and the first one I finished is Ranma ½.

I used to watch a lot of animes like Pokemon, dbz etc without knowing they were called animes. But the animes which got me into this addiction of sorts would be kekkaishi and bleach.I had just discovered animax and these unique shows(unique at that time) turned my world around.

For me it was Ranma ½. That was the first series I knew is called anime but later I learned I had watched some old Toei ones when I was a kid because the TV in here showed some of the movies/kids shows.

This thread again? Eh, why not. The obvious answer is Dragonball Z and Pokemon, as well as shows that aired on Toonami such as Outlaw Star, G Gundam, Gundam 08th MS Team, and Big O. Then Adult Swim gave me Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and FLCL. But the first anime I sought out on my own that didn't air on TV here was Slayers.

This glorious signature image was created by @Mayumi!

I am the Arbiter of Absolute Truth, and here is my wisdom:

"Anime was always influenced by the West. This is not news.
Shoujo is the superior genre primarily aimed at young people.
Harem/isekai are lazy genres that refuse any meaningful innovation.
There is no 'Golden Age.' There will always be top-shelf anime.
You should be watching Carole & Tuesday."

Naruto. But the first show I watched after specifically saying 'I want to watch an anime and I'm going to search for it now' was Hyakko. I'm still confused about my choice, it's not even something popular.

Ghost in the Shell: SAC - back then I still thought that anime was "le trash xd" and thought that it couldn't have interesting settings or tell good stories with interesting characters, so GitS was a really pleasant surprise and I haven't looked back from there.

Not a show.

I got in to anime by games.

I starded with Everlasting Summer game and played a bunch more similar novels then played The Fruit of Grisaia.
But I doooooo love Akibas Trip: Undead and Undressed :D

After I played The Fruit of Grisaia, I watched the anime show. Then I got into anime tv series / shows :)

I was lucky enough to see anime at young age. So my gateway with anime was with My Neighbor Totoro (Fox Home Video Release), Speed Race, G-Force, Venus Wars and The New Adventures of Gigantor back in 1995-1996. In the late 90's, I later discover Pokemon, Slayers, Tenchi Muyo, Ah My Goddess, Outlaw Star, Ronin Warriors, Dominion Tank Police, and several others. I also remember seeing First of the North Star and 3x3 Eyes on Encore Action too.

Naruto, of course. First show I invested myself in. Funnily enough, it's also what got me into hard rock because of all the AMVs I watched in middle school, LOL

Now when I watch an anime or read a manga, I want it to be psychological, dark, and/or have a cast of varied and unique characters.

Things To Keep In Mind:
  • You shut your mouth when you're talking to me.
  • My thirst for anything humanoid (and legal) cannot be contained.
