being able to have more than 10 favs in each category

New
do you think MAL should make it possible for us to have more than 10 favs in each category?

i think being able to have more than 10 favs in each category is better and more fun!!

here is an example:
your top 10 in each category will be shown in your profile, but once you click on [ Anime (favs) or Manga (favs) or Characters (favs) or People (favs) ]
your full list of favs will appear, can be up to 50 or so, at least more than 20

what do you think?? i know you can edit and post pictures of your favourites in your blog but i think it will be more fun and cooler if it is the normal myanimelist way of adding favourites.

i hope you understand

Favourite means favourite, the best not 'I like it' or something. If 50 shows are 'the best' it kinda loses it meaning. 10 is more than enough.

Sorry to burst your bubble but this suggestion has been tabled so much that it's in the list of never to be implemented.

I don't know why people write that they are approachable persons,
if you were you wouldn't be on MAL.

Extended families or lovers on MAL are a farce.

This is an illegal suggestion for good reason. It even used to be 5 anime, 5 manga, 10 characters, and 7 people (no idea why 7 people) but now it's 10 for each. I believe it's AniDB that gives users a max of 50 favourites and allows them to distribute them as they wish so if you don't read manga you could have 20 anime favourites or whatever. The 5x4 square that shows up on your profile is intended to look elegant and being allowed 50 favourites of each would destroy the meaning of a favourite since a lot of people haven't even seen many more than 50 anime. If MAL had an official "extended favourites" blog system that would be nice, but it definitely should remain separate from the regular favourites system.

It would be good, but you can write extra characters in biography.

To me often them 10 favourites provide a good hint to what that user's likings in anime are.
5 would be too few for that, I think. But also significantly more than 10 would imo. make it less meaningful - compare to someone who rates everything >=8.
I can have a harder timing figuring out what they might like when they rate everything >=8.

Of course this might be very different for someone with >1000 anime in their lists, there I could see the difficulty choosing just 10 ...
But once again, they can list them in "about me" or a blog sth.
*darn, using my right hand is off-limits for a while. Typing with my left hand only is ... eww.*
