Which UK rock bands or artists do you listen to? Do you have a favorite?

I am a huge fan of UK rock music.

My favorites: Cream, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Motorhead, Deep Purple, Freddie Mercury and Rod Stewart.

Out of the ones in the poll, Radiohead is my favorite, but my actual favorite British artist and favorite solo artist overall is PJ Harvey.

With my pleb choice muse, on the list, obviously it was a no contest -
*Tho' it won't be so necessary to look big and comprehensive(guess no one will even pick them all here), it would be nice to see more "name" on the poll list, like discharge(or any uk 82), the damned, wire, the jam, the fall, siouxsie & the banshees, PiL, joy division, the stone roses, some early shoegaze's band - etc -

Pretty big poll there. In terms of "classic" rock, definitely the Rolling Stones. The Clash are one of my favorite bands too.

Led Zep for sure. Pink Floyd/The Clash/The Cure almost had it though.

Gotta say, had this convo on saturday night, Rolling Stones and The Beatles have never done it for me.

Few songs, sure. But eh.

Do you think they're bad because they're popular?

No I think they pale in comparison to most of the other choices who I may add are for the most part considerably more popular than Oasis could ever hope to be. Not that I think popularity means shit but just saying since you brought it up.

Because I only included the top 50-60. It would be a long poll if I added all. If you're talking about my poll.

My favorite British rock band is the Beatles, though I have listened to the Stones, Queen, Def Leppard, and Dire Straits.

As for favorite solo artist, I just cannot pick between John, Paul, and George.

Lol, Oasis is down twice - was that intentional? Ugh, couldn't possibly just pick one band from that - Radiohead, Oasis, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, The Police... And then there's the big classics, too.

Tossup between The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Queen.

Also why isn't Supertramp on here? If they were I'd add them to my list to make a four-way tie.

For me it's definitely Pink Floyd and The Smiths. I love these bands, the music and the lyrics are superb.
But I really enjoy many of the listed bands, like Muse (not really their new album though), Iron Maiden, Radiohead, The Beatles and Depeche Mode (I actually watched them perform live :D).
