THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Meh that felt underwhelming with a bit of adventurous feel. Poor Hikaru :x

Kinda clever the guys used their voice and songs to help out each other though. The feels?

I doubt Masunaga is actually gay but I'd be a nice twist imo. I had fun with this episode, I just wish we could hear more of the songs.

The deja vu game was strong for me in this one. So, the guy who has Okita's voice is also sick? I was like "oh noes, not him again" XD It was really funny when they were talking about the cure herbs since it would be really convenient for him in Hakuouki huh xD When he started coughing blood I lost my shit "NOT AGAAAAAAAIN" D:

I know right?, It would be nice to see a character in these kind of anime that is ACTUALLY gay and not just fanservice queerbait

Yeah, I thought this part was pretty confusing. I also wonder what Kento meant when he said: "You'd break up with her right away" referring to Masunaga and that random fangirl.

Everything leads me to believe Masunaga is in love with Tomo but I have my doubts because we still have a female MC and usually this kind of anime are for the guys to fall in love with her, which I hope not because it'd be new for these kind of shows. They'll probably clear up later on as a misunderstanding.

I agree with you in that it's unlikely that he's in love with Tomohisa, but I also doubt any of the boys is romantically interested in Tsubasa, tbh. Their relationship with her is pretty professional so far, and judging by the formula the show's currently following, it's gonna mostly focus on the boys and their interactions with each other.

About Masunaga, While I think he respects and admires Tomo, it seems to me he's envious of Tomo's prince-like personality, charisma, and particularly his leadership qualities. In the first episode, if I recall correctly, he didn't seem happy with his group referring to him as their leader. He probably feels inferior to Tomo and that's why he kept refusing to accept his acts of kindness like Tomo offering him a handkerchief and a croquette. I could be completely wrong, though.

The last part of your post is most likely what it is. Part of me wish there was some sort of romantic tension between the guys but in Masunaga's case he seems more complexed about Tomo's charisma and leadership than actually liking him beyond. I found Kento's suggestion to be pretty weird, even if I noticed Masunaga indeed acted weird around Tomo before. In episode 4 actually I thought they pretty much solved this issue.

That would be an interesting twist, but you know how it is with these kinds of shows, it's probably just as @Lay1306 suggested, it's pure fanservice even though some of the guys would actually make cute couples (like mikado and momotaro and now hikaru and nome)

such is the case in almost any anime with lots of people of the same gender, there are so many complex and awesome relationships between them that could easily and naturally develop into one of a romantic nature but are always held back or in worse cases have forced a 'love interest' with someone of the opposite gender they don't really have any chemistry with just because if they were to add an actual queer character some people will instantly deem the show as trash despite how interesting the story by itself might be and of course they can't afford that since the show is a product and they have to sell
(sorry for the rant I'm just a very salty queer person that craves representation)

I'm expecting this to be a regular harem, but it seems like it would be an anime with no love interest (except with the 3 guys that I feel like her Tomo, Ryuuji, and Kane.) I honesty feel that Masunaga isn't in "love" in the way of getting married with Tomo, more like admiration instead. Honestly though, it would be kind of weird to see no spice with the relationships of Tsubasa and the other characters. I'm actually expecting the harem to form, but there has been no reason for any of those people to fall in love with Tsubasa except when she defended Kane and fell in his arms. That's the only thing that would actually make sense.

I understand where you're coming from. I'd also like to see more anime that seriously handle this subject, but B-Pro is supposedly a reverse harem series first and foremost, and despite Tsubusa not being the object of the boys' affection, they're still not gonna go further with all of these "hints", regrettably so.

Hikaru :(((( but Nome is just <3

Also I wonder... If there's something more to Kazu's actions towards Tomo. I think it's cute but then Ryuji....

OMG I am thinking the same thing!! Like, in normal society if you gather a bunch of people together, most likely some of them will be homosexual! It would be actually more realistic to have one of them being gay then none of them! Like, anime is not considered homophobic because of all the BL and stuff, but it is either EVERY SINGLE person in the story is gay, or NONE of them! So to me this is denial of the reality of sexuality. Can't we have a gay couple in a non yaoi/shonen-ai anime please!
-best attempt of that being Nijiiro days so far!-

Hikaru is precious ;_;

Poor things, but so cute

I noticed this nice background

That ambiguous Masunaga-Kitakado scene though... Highly doubt it would lead anywhere in this anime. And Kitakado seems to care more for Korekuni anyway...

I wonder what is wrong with the leader because he is acting quite suspicious. Hmm.

Anyway decent episode.

Nice bond between Hikaru and Tatsu.
Since they talked about the plant, it was too predictable.

So in this episode, an incurable illness. I feel like this anime is gonna throw every possible pointless cliche they can think of into the already growing pile. (My guess is Hikaru's incurable illness won't even be brought up anymore in any of the remaining episodes. lol)

Also, I'm a fan of BL but someone should tell the creators/writers that it tends to work better (and pairings are more likely to happen) if they leave the characters be and let the fans ship them for themselves. All the one/two-liners insinuating that one member has feelings for the other are really unnecessary.

That said, I actually like the relationship the members have with each other. I'm also liking that they're shedding light on each member and showing the life of an idol besides music... it's just a little sad to see the female MC pushed back so much. Tsubasa's starting to look like a supporting character than an actual lead.

Full of energy, positive hero turns out to have serious illness - check! This time I didn't mind it that much though, Hikaru is the sweetest :3 Wonder what's up with Kazu?

Why is Kazu acting up? O___o Esp when he's around Tomo. Weird.

Tsubasa-chan not getting much spotlight lately ;A;

I'm glad that godaiso plant wasn't all-healing lol. That would've been ridiculous, even if there was the ghost thing previously lol
