I hear this is an original anime episode. It's pretty good overall though so that's cool; did a good job at introducing the side characters, though I'm not sure if it was letting on too much. Then again I'm probably noticing all these 'spoilers' because I already know the story so it's alright.
Rip Isaac, tho. You're AO and you didn't last long, must have been a lancer in a previous life with that shitty luck. Chopped by the Fuhrer himself, you will not be missed, probably.
Maes Hughes is goofy in an awesome way. Armstrong's goofiness is a special kind tho, one that is passed down the Armstrong family for generations.
Dat last scene doe, if Isaac is the bad guy, but he says the Fuhrer is the bad guy, and the woman looks evil, but Edward doesn't care, then WHO IS ORANGE.
PS: The OP is as gud as I remember. Nostalgia goggles makes it sound even better.
PS 2: Maes Hughes is probably what inspired Rindou from World Trigger, they even have the same Japanese voice actor so nice little trivia there :D
Episode 2:
Backstory time! Kind of common in battle shounen manga to have one for the mc early on. Very good introduction to alchemy, as well as the brothers' situation, their motives, etc.
The Truth scene thing is kinda creepy, so is the "abomination" of a human they created, also, although to a lesser extent, the fact you could apparently bind someone's soul into a suit of armor. Equivalent exchange sure is painful >_<
Winry's question is kinda dumb tbh (though maybe she just hates soldiers so much and her question was more like she was asking "why do people become soldiers if they're so bad" but anyway), I'm glad the author kept it simple and didn't go for some elaborate bs to try to be fancy or whatever.
So the goal right now is to find the philosopher stone and use it to heal their missing limbs/body. Apparently the guy they're after possibly has it and can transmute flowers out of nothing, which ignores the law of equivalent exchange they spent the entire episode establishing. BAD WRITING
Welp, that's it for today probably. It's weird how easy it was to get myself to re-watch this. I guess I did watch Horizon just a few days ago but I was procrastinating (had finals) so it doesn't count =3=

Ep.1
Nice introdutory episode, but i think they show the big guns way too early, but since botato said this is an anime original, I'll let it pass.
I like most of the characters so far, especially the pedo and Hughes, but not Ed due to his "chibi " schtick. I just hope that won't be a recurring them throuout the 64 episodes.
So Edgar was being controlled by that mysterious woman and the prisoner, despite him thinking he was doing all that on his own accord. Wonder if they will be the main antagonists ot if they are just the villains for the first arc
Now onto episode 2 and the first 4-koma episode
"Be who you are and say what you mean, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind" - Dr. Seuss
This episode was too funny, and that priest guy was especially stupid. Like, he assumed the military sent Ed and Al but he still tried to kill them at the very beginning. What would he have done if by chance it worked and they really died? Among other things <.<
So anyway they finally get to see a philosopher stone in action and almost get their hands on it, but PLOT TWIST it breaks. Yeah no it's not gonna be this easy Ed, you're in a shounen manga. Also one more thing I never noticed until now, apparently regular Alchemy can't change organic matter into inorganic matter, that explains a bunch of things though not directly related to the story, still nice to know.
That scene with Rose towards the end was good. Ed sincerely regrets attempting the taboo, the whole 'keep moving forward' thing is kinda cheesy though it fits.
That woman and fat thing appear again, and apparently they're the ones who were behind the priest, so they probably know how to acquire philosopher stones. Creepy intro for those two (ignoring the previous episodes that is), especially that fat thing wtf he literally just started eating a corpse.

Armstrong isn't a pedo he just likes his muscles and assumes everyone else does :p
Anyway the comedy is probably one of this series most hated parts, not as in most people find it lame but more that they find it unfitting or over used. I don't know if this counts as spoilers but let's just say this won't be the last you'll see this chibi joke thrown around. That aside Ed will hopefully get more likable as the story progresses.

I reffered Armstrong as a pedo becuase of the scene where Ed is recovering in the hospital and he offers himself to make him feel better (homo alert). But that is still funny to watch, since he is too delicate with that buffed body.
Oh well, i just hope the chibi schtick doesn't overshadow Ed development as a badass alchemist nor used during serious parts that could ruin the mood of the scenes
EP. 2
First of all i have a question: Is the Elric patriarch a state alchemist? Or just a freelancer genius alchemist? I might have overlooked that info, but i doubt he would belong to the military since roy didn't know who the elric brother were.
With that out of the way it's interesting to see that with such young age both elric brothers already had proeficiency for alchemy, even tho it wasn't anything too flashy. This episode gaves us an in depth look on the the 1st episode of the flashback, which showcase their father as the worst dad ever (he even makes Ging looking like father of the year in comparison), not coming back home when their mother died.
Edward got some balls to at least bound his brother soul to an armor after he vanished, which is also pretty impressive to his age. Two couples are already in the making (Wenry and Ed/ Mustang and the female soldier),so i hope at least one of them dies for some despair inducing moments.
Ed breezing through the alchemist exam as expect of the prodigy, but I wonder how does it preforms alchemy with no circles. Could it be that he has them imbued in his automail arm? But if so how can he use different abilities? Are there specific alchemy circles for each element? I'm lookign forwad to find it out
Edit:Oh and may i say that bradley is typical strongest man in the universe, that will die later in the series to some villain even more powerful than him? But he«'s still badass with that sword
Ep.3
Oh hiromi, you lil rascal. Poking fun at the church for pulling miracles. +1 girl
So the Elric boys depart on a journey to find the Philosophers Stone, to help them recover Alphonse body and hopefully Ed limbs. The stone that the priest had was a bit fishy from the start since it would be inconceivable that something as legendary as the philopshers stone would be owned by that priest.
The fakes appears to be the same that Edgar use, and in that last scene, i suppose they are created by Lust and Gluttony (or whoever they are with). Are those tattoos with the triforce a indicator that they belong to a bigger organization?
I really liked the analogy that Ed made between is sin and Icarus sin, because by trying to be a god (supposedly the only being able to create life is God) he burned his wings and fell to the ground (almost killed his brother and lost part ofhis body).
And i might have made myself unclear in episode 1 when referring to the chibi schtick. It's not the chichi artstyle that bothers me in the show, but the overusage of the "You are so short" "Arghh i'm not short, damn you" sequence. It falls flat after a while, making the scene boring instead of amusing.
Ep.4
the famed ep,4 of FMAB. Someone is out for Alchemist blood, could this be the beggining of a new separate arc, putting on hold the antgonists of episode 1 and 3?
Roy was a swell guy for hlping out the boys after they solved the problem in Liore, by itroducing them to the pinnacle of quimera alchemy, whom could help them revert to their original forms. Nina is so sweet and innocent , yet so mature for understanding that her father has no time to play with her becuase of work. But ngl, since SHou said that her wife disappeered i suspected that he had turned her into a chimera.
It was a bit saddening seeing Nina like that, but Shou was kind of right by telling that he and Edward were similar, since both played with the human life as if they were gods, but what set them appart was the fact that elric and alphonse did it out of love for their mom and shou did it for money
now onto 5

Nothing was mentioned about him yet.

It has something to do with the Human Transmutation he did. When Al was surprised Ed hinted that he 'saw' something there that allows him to do this.

One more difference would be Ed and Al regret what they did and admit that they were idiots. This guy thinks he's justified, even wondering why no one understands him <.<
ngl scar vengence is justified, but targeting the elric brothers for something they weren't even a part of is wrong. It's also ironic how scar has to resort tothe same Alchemy he despise so much. Hope we get to know more about the Ishval war.
The plot regarding the Ishval war thickens. It's weird that after the war some alchemists deserted Central.
What could be the awful thruth behind the philosopher stone that Marcoh was so reluctant to tell about? Could the Stone creation involve one of the alchemy taboo?
Ed and Alphonse resolve to fix their past mistakes is strengthened by the fact they burned down their house, so that until they fix their bodies they won't have a place to return to.
Armstrong is starting to prove he's the best character in this show

I don't think it's that weird tbh. They've been saying it was a really awful war, a lot of them must have been traumatized or just got fed up with all the bloodshed. It's bad enough that it's actually a civil war and not against an outside country or something.
Boom goes the library. Looks like someone trying to cover their tracks and the secret of the Philosopher Stone but unluckly to them Marcoh gave them the necessary hints to find it. Loved the interactions between Sheksha and the brothers plus Maes appearing out of nowhere i start to slave her away due to her "ability".
And looks like the war was just an excuse to produce stones since it requires human bodies
down to the (one) source of the problem. and there appears to be more soul bound armors beside Al, but they have a different purpose. The tattoo squad appear once again, and it lookslike they are indeed behind the fake stones.
Barry was awesome with his surprise after seeing alphonse hollow body and for raising a interenting question : what if he isn't ed brother but a soul with planted memories just to do his biding? nice episode overall, and it seems the screw winry frorgot to put was an important piece afterall
This episde was filled with comic relief: From King Bradley sneaking out from the window because his subbordinates wouldn't let him go out alone, to the usual Hughes family hijinks, with a little bit of armstrong being the sensitive macho ending with winry and ed misunderstanding as to was the fault for the automail being broken.
Quite intringuing as to why Bradley made them swear as to not speak about the stone secrets, but since he said his people were onto some people that were suspect, i guesss that even some higher ups might be involved.
At least the misunderstanding with Al was resolved, but i understand Ed because asking someone dear to you if they hate you and they answer yes , i'd be devastated.
Huge death flag up ahead, hope i'm wrong

I messed up and watched a bunch of episodes at once, and procrastinated on writing my thouhgts on them then took somewhat of a break, tl;dr I'm going to skip most of them and try to do this again, one episode at a time.
Episode 14:
Dayyum so now we know why Bradly acted suspiciously in previous episodes; he's with the seven deadly sins tattoo guys. We got to see him in action as well and he's pretty damn dangerous for an old man, why are old people OP in anime who started this trend o.o
RIP Greed, was a pretty fun character tbh. I like how he went rouge because he's too greedy to be a pawn for that father guy xD
Speaking of which wtf is that Ed's dad? And did he just turn Greed into a philosopher stone and drink it? Can that be considered cannibalism? @_@
So there's a giant named Sloth and that trap look Envy has isn't his true form, but he wears it because he's actually ugly (loved how greed triggered him with that lol). So far we know three of the powers of the tattoo people, ultimate spear (I assume it's pretty sharp), ultimate shield which we've seen in action, and ultimate eye which is still unclear on what it does, but it sure helps a lot considering how fast Bradly trashed Greed.
Also it turns out that Ed's brother and their teacher are also "good sacrifices," considering they all attempted human transmutation that might be why. Bradly's offer for the teacher was most likely so she could be monitored easily, good on her to turn down the offer despite not knowing what's actually going on.

Plot twists galore, this episode.
dude same here. i'm already at 24. i think i'll do a summary off them all. they have been so great i've watched them all in one go

Episodes 1-8: Not much to say, pretty good pacing all around and the animation is very fluid in most fights, the comedy can be intrusive sometimes though.
