| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- The battle is awesome, nice to see that whale monster in more details. The flashbacks also reinforces Wilheim's desire to fight, what a boss. MVP of the episode imo when he went rage on that monster. White Fox did a good job at the choreography too imo. I think the flashbacks are important for characterization. Oh and Subaru got more badass :o Wilheim :(  |

Yeah these flashbacks are majorly important since they are the start of an extremely big and complex subplot line. That Satella cameo tho. |

| Wilhelm is so awesome! Ahh can't wait for next week~ It's fun to finally see shoshitsu no kiri being animated, which to this day, I still don't know what to translate that as. Mist of Disappearance? Vanishing Mist? Elimination Mist? Something weird? Anyway, it's a pretty awesome fight I'd say. A full-blown battle against the Hakugei, a little cut here and there, nothing new. As for the flower scene, it was okay. As I expected that they'd include it. |

| Wilhelm is one badass mf, so was his wife, as expected of Reinhard's grandparents. Subaru getting badass alright! and that ending... fcking 3 of those giant motherfckers came flying around them, it was at that moment that everyone knew, they fcked up. |

| Amazing episode. After this episode Wilheim's character grew on me, loved what they've shown so far of his past and the sword master. The battle against the whale so far has been nice and it looks like the whale has duplicated and now there's 3. Satella makes an appearance as well... |
| Damn they haven't even killed the first now you telling me they have to try and kill three!? Boi talk about a pain in the ass. Damn that was a good episode. The action was just amazing. Wilhelm has really grown on me in just one episode. I would really like to see more of his past. Well that is if he is still alive. Really like this new Subaru as well. Even when things started getting bad, he gather his thought and came up with a plan. Also got to see a glimpse of what I think is Satella. Digging the purple lip stick. Damn that ending was insane. I was not expecting two more big ass whales to pop up. Hell they didn't even take down one yet. I wonder what going to happen. If there was a time for a plot power up this probably would be the best time lol. Can't wait till next week. |

| Somehow this episode really remind me about Ayumu fighting the whale Megalo of "Kore wa Zombie desu ka?". Even Wilheilm's way of attacking by slicing around the neck feels same too. LOL So that's the true power of White Whale's Fog. Some combination of black hole "attribute" and Mandrake's scream? |

| Well I don't know how to make of this episode, it's good seeing Subaru is back and Wilheim's flashbacks is adorable. But damn, this episode has been a mess. And that ending? Ugh. They clearly know how throw in a cliff-hanger. |

| At some point or another one realizes how great a show is. For some people that was really early on, for others it takes a while. This show has been growing on me slowly, but hasn't been favorites-worthy at all(The Rem episode came close) That was the fucking episode. That right there. I was on the edge of my seat for the entire episode, start to end. |

| Wilhelm went hard in this episode, holy shit. It was great to see his backstory in this episode, I've always liked it when the backstory is interspersed throughout the episode rather than having all backstory, then going back to the present. What a fucking badass, I hope he isn't dead just yet. I'm assuming he's going to die, but like that? This man deserves a more honorable death than that. For some reason, I had a feeling there would be more than one whale. They all went in on the first one and still couldn't take it down, now they have to deal with the first one AND two more?! Good luck, Subaru and co. You're gonna need a lot of it. |

| Well, they tried, but if they've had this much trouble with one whale, there's no way in hell they can deal with three, especially with Wilhelm possibly dead (although I kinda doubt it at this point). Really though, the main point of interest was the screenshot a few posts up, when Satella herself (presumably) appeared when Subaru tried to speak of his power again. Maybe I'm really bad at lip-reading in Japanese, but I swear she was saying "aishiteru" or something in that brief moment when she appeared. That aside, Wilhelm's combat prowess was very impressive, and clearly a massive step-up compared to what he's like in the flashbacks. I kinda expected to see Crusch doing more in the battle than she has so far, but obviously this is far from over. Also, seeing that ED again is kinda sad considering that it's very unlikely that we'll ever see Subaru smile with such intensity and sincerity ever again. |

| I guess that answers why the wife died. Was slightly disappointed with how underwhelming the animation was for most of this episode. Thought they'd knock it up a few notches with how hyped this fight seemed to be getting last episode, but as an anime-only watcher, I'm assuming there's way more to this fight and this is only the start? In any case, pretty solid episode. |

Crusch continues her climb up the best girl rankings <3 Very nice use of flashbacks. They were very minimal, but said everything you could need in just a few scenes. That's good direction |

| Great episode, Fight against the whale was great to watch. Wilhelm is one badass, The way he just ran all over the whale tearing it up was epic. Was really nice to see his backstory as well, His wife is even stronger than him. I just hope he isn't dead, He shouldn't die like that :( Glad to see the good old Subaru again, It's like Felis put it, He's changed so much. xD Just that this is the original Subaru. Not sure how they are gonna deal with 2 more whales unless Crusch pulls out some big trump card or something. Subaru especially is gonna need a lot of luck. |
