Depends if i love my children or not.

Like, I'm sure it will be fun to see them bullied because their name is Naruto /Sarcasm /

I'll say it... First get a 3D waifu first before thinking about the name of the child. Once you have...

Oh hell no. I'd more then likely name my kid a name that lines up with my culture or that of the fathers. Obviously there are some non Japanese names in anime but I just cant see myself going out of my way to give my child the same name as a character. My sister actually named her daughter after a fantasy book character and its alright but it does get people confused.

As a side note my mothers name is Ciel and it kind of bothers me thinking of a future generation of children (most likely male) with her name.

if i hypothetically actually wanted to have children, probably not, unless it was something pronounceable that could be transferred to a western setting.

otherwise it sounds like you're a fucking weeb.

Just so that I can use it as a reason to beat him up.

In my case, my family is Japanese (well, except my Dad, so that means I'm half). I have a Japanese name along and my brother does too, so I plan to name my child with a Japanese name as well.

Still, I am afraid that my child would get bullshit in school because of their name and people would believe I named them after an anime character, which will not be the case. It is scary when you're in a Japanese family in a foreign country and you want to follow traditions yet people might either misunderstand or find it "exotic".

Hell yes, my kids are going to be named after Kaworu and Asuka from Evangelion and nobody is going to stop me :P

Ehh, no. I actually don't even want to have children.

weetI guess, as long as I have life, all I can do is fight with all my might.

Well it would depend on the name, but def not a Japanese one. Probably something like Relena, Lizzy, or Anna just to name examples.

I'm named after a character in a book my Mom read so its not really a problem.

I would only name kids after characters with western names like Gene, Jet, Spike (also the name of the dog from Tom & Jerry), Christina, Alice (Alice Miller sounds like the name of a real sexy lady), Miranda, Ennis, Karen, Sara or Sarah, Lupin (if I married a French girl), Nicholas, Meryl, Milly, Rem, Jessie, etc.

I don't see anything wrong with it really, long as it isn't something like Naruto...

I'd happily name my son Tatsuya. I don't think having a foreign name is big deal nor is it really uncommon. My last name is French... but I'm american..

In school kids couldn't really pronounce it but I never was made fun of for it being foreign. I've also had people notice it, like going to the dentist when they're reading my name on the schedule sheet or whatever as they come up, I've had them ask "Ahh.. is that french?".

It really depends on the name itself... Some anime characters names sound nice and have beautiful meanings to them. Others not so much.... for my child it depends but for a pet animal sure :)

Only people who know about anime know the term weeaboo. And I think you shouldn't name your kids after an anime character, children shouldn't suffer because of the parents hobbies.(sorry this is a really horrible put together post)

Lol, it'd be funny if I ever have a kid and I name him Tetsuo just so I can scream "TETSUOOOOOOOOOOO!" every time I see him.
Trying to get his attention in the school parking lot: "TETSUOOOOOOOOOO!"
Calling him down for dinner: "TETSUOOOOOOOOOO!"
Catch him fapping: "TETSUOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Well I personally wouldn't have wanted that. I would have changed my name long ago, if I was named after an anime character.
So yea I don't see myself doing that either.

Like just imagine having a stupid anime name and then having to introcude yourself...
Like going "hey 'sup guys I'm Naruto" during your first day at school and then everyone starts laughing.

I hate to bear the bad news, but according to database that is an anime name. Plus there is a japanese platformer for Sega Master System called Alex Kidd in Miracle World. I think you're out of luck.

Any Japanese named "Alex" is probably a reverse weeb or something...the letter "X" doesn't even exist in Japan...

The name "Alex" is synonymous with greatness...truly one of the best names ever.

I would definitely not want to name my children after anime character even if I watch it. Since, my country is not from Japan and some people in other country do not like anime people would definitely criticize it.

Why not? There are tons of kids with exotic names where I live. I already met a Kenzo and the little brother of an ex classmate of mine is called Zen so I doubt people would bat an eye. So if Mrs. Sauron agrees I wouldn't mind.

That said I won't pick a name because I like the character alone. I mean, stuff like Yui or Satoshi is fine but it would be a really bad joke if I called my child Eru.

Possibly a name from the series Monster. Or another series based in Europe (the name levi is fking cool). Otherwise, fkkkk no. Unless I get my dream of marrying a good looking japanese guy (not bloody likely japanese don't marry white people often and they don't go to america much either).

It just doesn't fit right, well some names.. Since Japanese names have meaning in them by using different characters (am i right with this one?)
