I listen to anime OPs if I like them. Pretty much never stick around for the EDs. No point in delaying watching the next episode. ![]() |
I only watch the OP and ED in the first episode then skip them in subsequent episodes unless I really enjoy the song. ![]() |
I usually watch the OP of the first episode, but almost never then after. Unless it's a super catchy song like the opening in Clannad: After Story. I almost never watch the ending, though. ![]() Now I see the secret of the making of the best persons. Very very rare. I'll pretty much only skip if I'm trying to get an episode in before heading off to something I need to be at for a certain time. I'll give myself 30 minutes while most anime don't go more than that per episode, BUT I'm always a fool and fail to factor in lag, and on this laptop lag can last for like thirty minutes to an hour. That being said, I need to do something about this laptop; it's lagging has almost (or has) made me late for things too many times than I'm comfortable with. Ah, also for a little while (or maybe they still do this, idk) Netflix used to skip to where they assumed an anime's theme song ended and play the video from there. My hands were often occupied when that happened so I never really bothered to rewind UNLESS Netflix assumed really wrong and skipped through the actual new bits because the show didn't start with the OP for once or something. Once I'd finish what I was doing, no matter how far in I was, I'd rewind all the way to the start. ALSO, I purchased some early 2000's U.S. version anime DVDs recently and noticed that sometimes they straight up only had the OP and ED for the first episode and just took it out for the rest of the episodes. I guess that kinda counts too. ![]() |
I just sit through the openings because I'm too lazy to skip them and then I stop watching when the ending starts and go onto the next episode. If an anime puts stuff other than a sneak peek of the next episode after the ending I get irritated ![]() |
I usually don't skip OP and ED's if it's catchy and good also if it's my first time seeing it. ![]() |
Watch the OP and ending atleast once, the only case I watched ending everytime was in the case of Welcome to NHK! ![]() Signature removed. Please follow the signature rules, as defined in the Site & Forum Guidelines. |
It largely depends on the show I am watching, if the opening does not influence me all that much I tend to use that extra minute and a half to dink around on my phone or laptop. ![]() |
If I don't care for the song, then fuck yes. If the song is catchy, then fuck no. ![]() |
I'll watch opening a few times, then skip it the rest of time. The endings i pretty much always skip. ![]() |
Openings and endings are part of the almost spiritual experience of anime for me. It's also time to revel and reflect on the show itself, either getting pumped and cheery for a show I like, or reminding myself how terrible a show is. I get to build those associations with the songs, which brings out those feelings when/if they play it during the show. ![]() |
Almost always skip these, since I rarely hear what I like. But I make sure to listen to them at least once (when I start to watch a series) and to listen to the final song of the last episode, this is to make my impression more complete, so to say. ![]() |
i usually watch both for the first time then skip it unless i really like the song ![]() |
I always make sure to listen to them at least once. If I like them I never skip them unless I get tired of them. ![]() |
I gravitate toward the pop-punk sounding Openings and Endings in anime. A lot of the shows I watch have that sound I like. But if it doesn't I'll skip it. ![]() |
I'm too lazy to skip openings and endings. Its so much easier to just watch them for the 24th time. ![]() |
Yes, unless the song was done by David Sylvian, Yes, or Dir En Grey. ![]() Ascended Taste I only came back to this site for the forum sets and to promote my RYM list... Anilist ftw still :dab: |
Bump. This thread is sad as endings tend to be meaningful and have better melodies more often. I can skip the OP more than the ED though I do watch when there are key changes in either (in case I am skipping it) Rest depends on how much I like the song. ![]() |
I usually skip openings because I just want to get to the content part asap but for the endings its a mixed bag. Some times I let them play while I think about what just happened but at others, I just skip it as well. ![]() |
Nahh i always watch em bro. i like to get the songs imprinted in my mind. i luv a good nostalgia trip ![]() |
I watch the opening/ending one time and start skipping it if it wasn't memorable. There are series that I always listen to the themes (FLCL, Evangelion etc.). ![]() ʙᴇᴄᴀᴜꜱᴇ ᴛʜᴀᴛ'ꜱ ᴛʜᴇ ᴇᴀꜱɪᴇꜱᴛ ᴡᴀy ᴛᴏ ᴋᴇᴇᴩ ꜰʀᴏᴍ ɢᴇᴛᴛɪɴɢ ʜᴜʀᴛ yᴏᴜ ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ ᴇᴠᴇɴ ʟᴏᴠᴇᴅ yᴏᴜʀꜱᴇʟꜰ yᴏᴜ'ʀᴇ ᴀʟʟ yᴏᴜ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ᴀɴᴅ yᴏᴜ ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ ᴇᴠᴇɴ ʟᴇᴀʀɴᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ʟɪᴋᴇ yᴏᴜʀꜱᴇʟꜰ |
All the time. I would watch it once or maybe twice only if I like the op/ed very much, otherwise no. ![]() “Do not let thyself be deceived by the lies of that foul beast!” |
Yes, skip when marathonning a series... ![]() |
