I've recently started this show on Netflix and I'm loving it so far. I was basically hooked when that John Carpenter-esque theme song kicked in; the show is full of all kinds of 80's references.

Anyone else checking it out? If so, what are your thoughts?

Ah...I saw this on Quotev as an ad. Not gonna watch it but it looks good for some people I guess. I'd rather watch movie>series for American shows in general.

I'm pretty iffy about it. I hadn't heard about it until the guy at my local comic book store wouldn't stop talking about it, and then suddenly it was everywhere I looked. I might give it a try, but I'm pretty disinterested in American tv right now.

I don't think I've ever started a show with such checked expectations and been absolutely blown away so quickly. This is one of the greatest shows of all time!

It was great save for the shitty cgi, especially clashed with the mood of the final episode. Hope season 2 holds up.

Great show. The mom character annoyed me at first (I hate those types of characters, you know, the ones that act all crazy). But she grew on me when people started to realize weird stuff was going on.

I was kind of surprised how bad that CGI was as well, it was like one of those made for TV Syfy channel films.

The CGI wasn't even bad imo lol better than the CGI in anime live action shows/movies

I liked it a lot! It had thiat awsome 80s mood.. and the photography and acting (and the kids as well) were just that good.
Anyway has anybody felt it was heavily inspired by Super 8, ET and Silent Hill?

Just finished the series - series with short seasons always appeal to me, lol. I'm on a Stephen King binge at the moment, so Stranger Things was the perfect thing to watch for me. Eleven is so precious and adorable, just want to protect her.
