| Subaru is a human being who has flaws and he whines too much, why can't he be like Kirito or Naruto and be strong and powaful and not a cribaby. Because real human beings don't belong in anime's am I right? (Much less be the MC For god's sake). The MC should be OP and should have AT LEAST 10 potential waifu's that he can flirt around with and protect with his incredible skills and attacks that he can learn in a day. I see far too many people using the "It's too deep for you to understand" defence. The fact is that the main theme of the show, the rebirth, is a mechanic which puts the show at risk of rehashing the same story over and over while the plot doesn't progress. While the author managed to combat this by making the setting around Subaru change, and has clipped out some bits, it still suffers from slow pacing as a result. I think it can be handled better, and has, Steins;Gate for example. If you can honestly say you weren't left wondering "When is Subaru going to leave this mansion?" at some point, I'll be incredibly surprised. |

| I'm not interested in this shipping stuff, what I am more concerned about is Puck. He's got some nerve, he can talk all the trash he wants, but one way or the other he didn't save Emelia either. He's apparently lived like a thousand years or something, has all this power, but wants to get disappointed in Subaru for failing? People can use excuses like he can't be around all the time, but those are excuses just like Subaru being a weak human, so Puck shouldn't be trashing anyone, let alone being so bitter. I want to know about this destroy the world contract too, did Emelia agree or know about that, or what's up with that. Is it some kind of bitter failsafe where she's okay with everyone dying if she dies, or is it that Puck agreed not to do monstrous stuff as long as she lived and she holds him back?-Not that I think Puck is even strong enough to do so, considering there seems to be other "spirits".- |

| This is where I wished Subaru was more like School Day's protagonist or White Album's protagonist. But not completely the same (Like school day's) Step 1 - Fuck Emilia. Step 2 - Cheat on Emilia and fuck Rem. Step 3 - Never tell someone his real feelings. Step 4 - Hop from one girl to another. God forbid Subaru from staying true to his feelings. Let him just fuck Rem and then fuck Emilia because he loves Emilia. I mean, a main character just has to go 360 with his feelings. All these triggered people, we finally get Subaru admitting everything I hated him for and as a result I like him more and you people just have to complain that he doesn't love Rem. |

I even had to turn the sound to zero because I couldn't listen to it anymore. They really should have done the past 3 episodes as one and this one as the second and then just continue like normal. This way we would have 2 more episodes with actual story in the second half... |
| Well, I'm fucking raging right now for Rem :( I love her, and i want to kill Subaru :( But like some said, he's decision are logical, end the LN/WL are faaaaaaaaaaaar from being finished (and the anime are pretty far behind the WL), so I have some hope that it will change (and it's not impossible I think). Well beside that, the episode was really great, with one of the best dialogue I've seen on an anime, and one of the best love declaration. Need the next episode :( |
| The hate for this series is gonna be doubled after this episode.Because most people didn't get what they wanted to see. To me it was by far the best episode to date.Ever since the cringey episode 14 this has been building up.Subaru finally hit rock bottom and now he hopefully can rise from his ashes but I doubt he is going to become an OP af one shots to white whale character.Out of all the other life in a different world based anime protagonists Subaru has the most realistic personality he truly acts and reacts like a 17 year old boy.That's exactly why some people will hate this series they are not gonna see the kirito action from the MC anytime soon.BTW I'm NOT a LN/manga reader those are all my guesses. With this episode he has finally realized that he is just a 17 year old boy who has never tried to accomplish something even he wanted to.He never TRULY tried in majority of his OTAKU life therefore he has a lot of weaknesses not just physically also mentally for example he was no match to Crusch nor Anastasia when it came to negotiation.The life he has dreamt about for his entire OTAKU life turned out to be just a big b*tch slap in his face. Now he understands I hope his character can finally start to evolve and get mature... |

| Subaru's self-reflecting speech was a bit difficult for me to watch 'cause it hit too close to home (of course, without someone like Rem to bring back my spirit) I really don't know what to feel after watching this, I just know it was a very powerful episode even though 70% of the episode was Subaru and Rem talking. I'm looking forward to the next one since it looks like Subaru is back :D |

| Wasted a fucking episode on an entire conversation.…… it was had some charm but it was still information that could have been easily spread about way better across the series and incorporated instead of a giant cringy dump. Rem has officially turned into a blind submissive waifu with no other defining traits besides her demon form which who cares about. The self insert is strong in this one. Subaru's 2DEEP4U DeCoNsTrUcTiOn "distress" got solved stupidly as I predicted because PLOT SAID SO!! Now his actions of him being a complete retard in all the other episodes were still NOT excused. "My life in another world starts from zero now" OH GOD YOU DID THE ONE THING TO MAKE THIS THE WORST SHOW EVER THAT NO SHOW SHOULD EVER DO!!! FORCING THE TITLE IN THE DIALOGUE! The cringe cherry on top. 👌👌 I'll be buying one ticket to TRAINWRECK station. Ill be aboard from now on fellahs. Really, in reality, sometimes even if you give it all for a person, it doesn't mean that a person is obligated to be with you. That is how it is even in a real life relationship. Love works in complex ways and to me, Re-Zero never fails to portray Subaru's relationship in a complex way. Many might blame Emilia's coldness towards Subaru but then, fail to empathise why Emilia felt that way. Emilia wants to know about Subaru's problem and wants to help him, but she doesn't know the whole details that the audiences know. She tries her best to help him through whatever she knows but yet Subaru keeps breaking his promises with her. Right from the very beginning, Emilia helped Subaru, healed him, protected him, gave him a home all this despite her not being obligated to in the slightest sense. That is what drives Subaru's affections for Emilia. And that is what attracted Rem about Subaru as well, their selflessness. Regarding this whole shipping fiasco, I would just say that regardless who Subaru chooses in the end, he is god damm lucky to have two person who would give their all for him, for the worst that is in him, for the horrible person that he is (though he is not without redeeming value) Dayum, hats off to the writer for the story. In a sense, the writer may have thought this story out to encourage people, to face up to their flaws, realise what is lacking in them, what is good in them and that they aren't always alone facing up to their problems. Despite his penchant for torturing his audiences, he does have a good understanding of people's problems and the ugliness that is inside everyone's self. And to the animation studio for the awesome direction this anime has provided, not cutting short any of the impactful dissection of human's ugliness and the awesome animation and OST within this shows just serve to drive home the points that the writer wants to provide even more strongly. Just this episode alone, the studio understands what the writer wants and drives home the point, making us realise and feel with Subaru just how powerless he is and how everyone at one point would be like him and choose the easiest way out, being the lowest denominator. Subaru is easily one of the most complex character that I have witnessed in the animations that I viewed. If the only one bit I would nit-pick, that would be that he realises his flaws and makes a recovery all too quickly as most would just dwell in the lowest point for a while before making a recovery (however, he does have a catalyst in all the re-lives that he experiences and Rem being the important crutch that she is, so I would give this a pass). But he did state that he is starting from zero again so i guess the reconstruction of Subaru would not be an instantaneous process after all. 5/5 +1 for such a wonderfully written post. :) |

| Is it bad that I can reflect myself into Subaru perfectly? While his despair may seem abnormal for the prevalent population, it entices me but also makes me feel like a piece of shit. Episode was nicely directed and had a more "subtle" tone after the first few scenes. |
