I don't recommend anything I rate lower than an 8. Simply because there are literally THOUSANDS of anime out there, and it doesn't make sense wasting 5+ hours on a standard 12-13 episode anime that is only mildly entertaining or mediocre at best. There are masterpieces to be watched in the same length of time, and that is what I am going to recommend to people.

I am forever your most devoted believer.

If someone said "Hey, should I watch this show?" and I gave it a 6/10, I'd say "Yeah, check it out."

However, if someone said "Which shows should I watch?" I wouldn't recommend a 6/10.

Depends on the series. Some of my 6s are rated in a more negative context, others are more positive, I will often either raise or drop a score overtime, so the 6 may be an improvement or a drop from the original score.

Of course.
Not only is 6 a positive score, but there could be several case-specific factors why that show isn't rated higher.

Let's say I gave something a 6 because it had bad art and sound, but a good plot and characters. I would easily recommend such a show to people who prioritize substance over style.

Not sure if trolling or not (bcuz of dat gramar) but I'm going to bite anyhow. There's just one single sentence on my profile, just one and it states that I haven't updated my list in ages. If I'm talking about a show then be damn sure I watched that anime first so I am more than capable of recommending it. Your reliance on a easily falsified list is the epitome of ignorance and naivety, please don't ever again make such crass assumptions.

Sure. If I rated it a 6, then it's a little bit good. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a very good anime, but if you only want to escape the boredom (so the universe isn't destroyed) then yes, I would recommend it.

Yes! Everyone has different tastes! There's also animes that I liked, but that doesn't necessarily mean it should be bumped up to a 7 or anything based off of that. Haha

6/10 is by definition above average, so of course if the anime/manga in question had a decent enough factor in one or two categories to warrant it being recommended in some way. Never understood why people rate series they find mediocore or bad as even close to 6, when the definitions given for the MAL scores even blatantly contradict such a standpoint.

6/10 is good for a one time watch, is decent and makes for a nice experience. Wouldn't rewatch those unless I find something special in some of them.

Only to those who were diehard fans of that particular genre or setting. If I gave it a 6/10 then it means I liked it, so it's still a positive score. But it was clearly still lacking else I would've rated it higher. When there're dozens of different series I could recommend someone, a 6/10 wouldn't usually be considered unless they'd already gone through most of my recs or I was sure that they definitely would love it. A 6/10 from me could very easily be a 7 or even an 8 for the next person.

Yes. Depending of what the person who wanted the reccomendation likes, what can be a 6 for me can be a 10 for him/her. The first step while doing reccomendations is know that not all the people likes the things you like.

Keeping in mind that people have different taste, I might recommend something even lower, but 6/10 is the lowest rating that I wouldn't be particularly hesitant to recommend to someone. It's the lowest rating where I would generally say I liked the anime overall. What I found to be a typical positive experience could be an outstanding experience for someone else.

Think of my 6's as "good, but not very special".

A 5 is where I would start calling something average (in the negative sense) and advise others to spend their time elsewhere unless they're really sure the anime matches their taste.

Yes, of course. Unlike normal ratings, I see 5 as average and everything under that is shit, so series with a 6 are "above average".

It depends on the person and their preferences. But I'll say that if an average person asked me if a 6/10 anime (according to me :p) is worth watching, I'd say yes. After all, I do consider 6 "above average".

Personally, if knowing nothing else, I'd recommend any anime I rated 8+.

Nope, for my way of rating, 5 and 6 are the scores I give to anime that were meh at best and it was probably better to just drop them instead, without really hating them (I rate lower that ones).

I usually recommend stuff I rated 8 or more, or 7 (my score for average anime) if it fits a lot with one looks for.

Yes, in my case 6 doesn't mean its bad. For example, I rated Hero Academia 5.7-6.0 because of its predictable and average cliché premise, but I would recommend it anyway because it is highly enjoyable and a hell lot'a fun
