Was the manga completed or canceled?

I've read that the manga ended in Japan, but I can't find if it was canceled or if it just completed the light novel story. Any guidance without any spoilers? I loved the first season of the anime, but I don't want to buy manga if it's going to end on a cliff hanger.

The Manga was completed, but it just covers the anime up to the end of Ep. 4.
Only one or two Manga were planned but in the end it grew up to five manga that were just there to promote the anime.
