Is Tsubasa Chronicle a necessary pieces for watcing xxxHOLiC?

So, I've understood Tsubasa Chronicle is a part of the xxxHOLiC series but how important is it exactly? You see, I'm loving xxxHOLiC and after finishing Kei I've read Tsubasa Chronicle is next. I'm 15 episodes into it though, and I'm not really liking it all that much. So far there haven't been much xxxHOLiC in it apart from the first episode, and so far it looks like it's a side-story for xxxHOLiC plot line at best. I'd rather skip the rest of Tsubassa Chronicle and it's second season if I could, and rather just start xxxHOLiC Shunmuki.

So for the question: Is all of Tsubasa Chronicle necessary for me to enjoy the main plotline and full story of xxxHOLiC? As in does it have an overlapping consequence or development in regards to xxxHOLiC that I need to watch and know before continuing with xxxHOLiC Shunmuki?

Any help is appreciated.

I guess I can just skip the Tsubasa Chronicle anime then, I might read the manga at a later point but doubt it.
