Oricon Biz collected questionnaires from people in the anime industry about manga and light novels which they anticipate to be animated. The respondents are working for anime magazines, music labels, TV companies, and anime journalism.

Top: Saint Young Men
Nakamura Hikaru's comedy manga. The humane conversation between Buddha and Jesus Christ catches great popularity. However, its anime will encounter controversy about religious issues. Such concerns raise the expectation even more.

Second: Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai
Fushimi Tsukasa and Kanzaki Hiro's light novel. Considering the popularity of the novel and having a professional animator Kanzaki in the staff, its anime adaptation will be a big hit.

Third: Chihayafuru
Suetsugu Yuki's manga on Sports Karuta. Numbers of the respondents said it will be animated anytime soon.

Other notable titles:
3 Gatsu no Lion
Umino Chika can appeal to wide range of audience.

Pluto
Yotsuba&!
Both of the titles have long been in the list of the anticipated titles. However, it's extremely difficult to animate the two because of the authors' particular thoughts on the manga.

Medaka Box
The great hit of Bakemonogatari also brought attentions to Nishio Ishin's manga.

Kiyoku Yawaku
Moteki

Interesting, I've read Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai & Medaka Box, I rather see Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai animated than Medaka box, but hope they do become animated :D

I thought the Yotsuba&! creator didn't want it to be animated for various reasons? Pretty sure I heard that mentioned.

Yotsuba would be great, but it seems like a far-off dream...

Oh God Pluto please Oh god please.

Yotsuba would also be fantastic (I also heard about it not want to be animated), as would Medaka Box be just as fantastic.

Still waiting for a 100+ ep version of 20th Century Boys anime.

Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai will be interesting to see. As long as Kirino isn't voiced by Kugimiya Rie.

I hope Urusawa's other works don't get animated. Monster is plenty enough. He just gets lost in his own story. But atleast Pluto is shorter than his other stuff.

Except Medaka Box.

OreImo is definitely OUGHT to be animated.
Though it hasn't been confirmed, I'm sure everyone who read the novels are pretty much expecting the anime adaptation to come real soon. :P

Lol I'm reading vol.4 now... and it's HILARIOUS!!

Yea, even though Kirino is a type of a tsundere (though VERY inclined to tsuntsun side)... it somehow feels Rie's voice wouldn't fit kirino so much.
Wonder who else might there be who'd perfectly match her character... :P

They'd be stupid not to animate it. The light novel and manga was awesome.

Also agreed. Emiri Kato should voice her instead.

Of those on the list, I would like to see:
- Saint Young Men
Haven't read the manga, but I've heard a lot of good words about it.

- Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai
Have read the start of the first chapter. I agree with Haruka Tomatsu as Kirino.

- 3 Gatsu no Lion
Never heard of it, but Chika Umino has som very good character designs.

- Pluto
Haven't read it yet, but heard that it is great.

- Yotsuba&!
Read the first volume, and it was great. But, as mentioned; it may be difficult to adapt it into an anime.

- Medaka Box
I'm not sure about this one. Looks generic, but Nishio Ishin did a great job on Bakemonogatari.

I was thinking Tomatsu Haruka. Not really sure.

Just try imagining what kind of voice would perfectly fit Kirino shouting "はぁ、あんたバカじゃないの? (Haa, are you stupid or something?) XD

I was kind of thinking Satou Rina, hmm but Tomatsu Haruka might fit nicely too. dunno :P

I need Medaka Box animated so I can see the haters whine and cry some more about how the manga is going to stay serialized. I'd love it if we see an announcement a year from now.

I'd like seeing Yotsubato animated if they can pull it off.

Azuma doesn't want it animated. He doesn't feel that the mood of Yotsuba will translate well into anime, and you can't blame the man at all. It's nice to see some mangaka trying to protect the dignity of their work, because not every adaptation comes out the way the creators intended.

Reading something and watching it are two whole different experiences.

Who in the fuck would want unfunny crap like Saint Young Men animated?

On the other hand, I'd love to see anime commit suicide with Medaka Box.
Please kill yourself if you like Umineko in any way, shape or form!

Here is the script to the american live action remake of Death note. Read it and weep.

I would love to see a Saint Young Men anime adaptation! I love the concept of the manga (which I have yet to read), which I think wold translate over to an anime really well. Takehito Koyasu and Jouji Nakata as Buddha and Jesus, anyone?

Ore no Imouto ga konna ni Kawaii wake ga nai is so totally fine with me getting an anime adaptation.
But they should make the chara design after the novels rather than from the manga.

No love for Beelzebub. =(

i know right ?

i vote for Hajimete no Aku as my #1 choice!
"Forged in darkness with wheat harvested from Hell's half acre. Baked by Beelzabub; slathered with mayonnaise beaten from the evil eggs of dark chickens, force-fed to dogs by the hands of a one-eyed madman. Cheese boiled from the rancid utters of fanged cows. Layered with 666 separate meats from an animal which has maggots for blood."

Where is Beelzebub? I thought it is the most popular newcomer of WSJ of the past year. Or is it too early for that?

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou

I know there are 2 OVA episodes, but it would be great if there was show with at least 50 episodes.

I would love to see a Yotsuba&! anime, but I'm pretty sure I heard a while ago that the author didn't really want that.

Oh goodness, Saint Young Men?? Seriously?? xD I was wondering if that was ever going to get animated.

i dont understand the posts about not animating Saint Young Men due to religious controversy. who would bother?
if anything, its a reason to animate this, controversy always sells. its free advertisement.
the manga is just not that funny,
i dont understand why its so popular in japan.
maybe the anime will change my mind.

Yeah, since they might have to do fillers since there are about 34 chapters out now. But I'm looking forward to it.

Saint Young Men would be awesome animated. maybe someone will finally start to translate it. but too many religious issues will certainly be of a great hindrance.

Religious issues... Kodomo no Jikan gets animated but religion scares the animators away? Step up and do it!

Yotsuba would be great too but I'm somehow afraid to see it animated... I strictly differentiate between Manga and their Anime adaptions but Yotsuba is so perfect as it is, I just can't imagine it as an Anime...
