Baccano - as what everyone's already, the cast is epic in every way
Samurai Champloo - each member feels like they compliment each other to make a really good series
Ghost in the Shell - everyone of the cast really plays their parts well and not one feels left out

Clannad.

I don't think I hate any characters on that show.

Same goes for K-ON! (I mean, how can anyone hate them, they're all so cute ^.^)

School Rumble had such a very good cast of characters, it's just a shame that the story was, well, there was not one, it was just "meh". Never seen such wasted potential.

Zeta Gundam had a very likable cast as well. Many characters that were killed off, I admitted to shedding a tear.

Victory Gundam had a bunch of your typical "whiny kids". But Tomino found a way to make me like them.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes (This is self-explained)

Heavy Metal L-Gaim has all the markings of a show that wouldn't have a very good cast, it was pretty much a shounen. But again, Tomino makes something unexpected, work. I loved this "annoying" cast.

Kanon was just great all around. Good story that wasn't quite as peculiar as Clannad, and it had a wide range of interesting characters. Have a strange urge to want to rewatch Kanon now. ~_~

Fruits Basket, like School Rumble, had a wide range of interesting, likable characters. Only difference is there was a story, and it was interesting at that. Would love to see another series (A completed one at that), based on the rest of the manga.

Maison Ikkoku managed to turn those incredibly annoying house tenants into pretty likable characters. Yotsuya will go down as my favorite character, period.

There were other shows that had interesting characters, but manage to throw in a few "useless characters", that put a bad taste in my mouth. Series like Toradora! were slighted in my eyes based on that fact

Clannad. A lot of the characters were used significantly, plus are interesting and pretty likable.

Without having seen it I know the correct answer to the question this thread poses is One Piece, period. Nothing else, as it would be akin to spouting biased nonsensical garbage. Otherwise based on my own bias and what I've seen, I'd have to say either Gintama, Samurai Champloo, or Welcome to the NHK.

I always loved Fullmetal Alchemist's cast of characters, for both the original series and Brotherhood. They all had some sort of flaws to them, but then also had something that made you care about them, and that is something that is hard to accomplish.

I also have to say, Angel Beats! strongest point was its characters. They were all likeable and unique, and you just can't beat classic characters such as TK.

Other series would be Yotsuba (Only a manga, but whatever), Bakuman, Gurren Lagann and CCS

Fairy Tail has so many lovable characters! I'm fairly certain that there AT LEAST one character that everyone will find that they love. Natsu, Erza, Gray, Lucy, and many others!

Probably something like;

Legend of the Galactic Heroes
Rose of Versailles
Nana
Cowboy Bebop
Revolutionary Girl Utena

LoGH obviously has the best written characters in any anime I've seen. Rose of Versailles and Nana come right behind with similarly brilliant character depth and growth, while Cowboy Bebop manage to make compelling stories much due to the chemistry of the characters. Utena also has great depth, mostly for Utena herself but also several of the supporting characters.

Monster. Even the supporting characters are interesting and 3-dimensional.

Also, I'm in the process of watching LotGH, which is quickly setting itself up to fit in this category.

Baccano! All of the characters react so well with each other and make each other better, it's really the cast that makes this anime.

Even then, Lelouch faltered quite a bit in the second season.

I also love how you don't mention DBZ at all, since the cast of that had about as much depth as your average puddle.
