| It's very difficult to blame them when you see how embarrassing 99% of anime fans are. Most people I know who dislike anime do so because of the embarrassing 'weeaboo'/'otaku'-type fans so lol. |

| Everyone here as usual comes with a 'I don't care attitude'. As for me I wouldn't say it effects me greatly, everyone enjoys different things obviously but when people go out of their way to constantly bash something you enjoy it does start to get a little irritating. |

| I haven't personally met one, so I don't have much of an opinion on them. If they spend their time on forums hating on anime fans then they really need to get a life. If they simply don't know much about anime and pass it off as "something I can't possibly see myself enjoying" then I don't really care. Tevens said: Exactly. | I'm fine with it. Anime isn't my appearence, my DNA, or my culture so I don't think it's a big deal when I'm around people who hate anime. All my friends irl hate anime and my bf hates anime except for like 4 shows and 4 movies, so it never bothered me except when i was sometimes bullied for it in middle school and high school (it wasnt the worst thing i was bullied for, so even that didnt bother me unless they actually did shit directly to me). |

| I don't think about anime haters. Why waste time thinking about people who dislike a hobby I enjoy - regardless of the reasons - when I could spend that time pursuing the hobby itself? Tis a far better usage of the time. If people want to hate on something for stupid reasons, they're free to do so. It's no skin off my back. They can wallow in their pit of ignorance. |

| Let people enjoy and dislike whatever they hate. I feel with anime though, it's diverse enough so that everyone has something to enjoy, Ghibli films being a big example. My mom, who hates everything foreign she doesn't understand, was able to follow along an episode of K-On! once, she doesn't know any Japanese or een English, so reading the subs was out of the question. Yet she enjoyed the silly visual gags and was able to follow along with the episode just fine. (It was the one where they had to help Yui study for her exams.) Don't go and show casuals shit like To Love Ru or Kiss X Sis, if that's the only anime I saw, yeah, I would be disgusted by it too. |

| I can understand not liking it, but there aren't many legit reasons to hate it. Most are stupid generalizations and aren't legit reasons as you say. One legit reason is hating how openly sexual most shows are. While i may think it's petty reason and such people are prudes it's still not a generalization and just a difference in perspective. There are obviously outdoor ppl who don't like media in general too. I don't particularly care as long as they aren't affecting the genre negatively. |

For others they see it as escaping from reality, for others they just see it as an entertainment, for others without it it feels something is missing in their life. Anime as a whole is trash, filled with fetishes, moe fanservice, sexually ambiguously muscular mans, OP main characters with no other redeemable quality, pretentious shows, technophobia inducing dystopias, giant robots, slice of nothing ever happens and the power of friendship. ...Pfffft as if. They're just missing out, no real harm with their hate except potential customers for the industry. Is just them having the wrong idea of what anime has done and can do. |

But if an anime hater's reason for hating anime is poor and bad such as "it's for kids", then it's not worth my time listening to anything else they say. |
