Uh, that sounds like bullshit to be honest.
I've seen that kind of format being used for avatars but for using these formats for actual forums signatures sounds kind of moronic.

Anyways first time entering here since GESC started.~
Theme seemed interesting, though there could have been some more limits then just the format in my opinion.

@Mathes

you are kidding me right? O.o
MAL is a long way from being a gfx community with a bunch of talented artists.
And not all forums have sig limitations in 140 px. I know this for a fact since I'm a member of few of them.

Check out just as an example the forum on these two sites and you might get the idea.

Believe me there are plenty more.
Vertical sigs give you different parameters then horizontal ones. Different composition, focal placement, lighting, depth and other elements that make a gfx sig.

1) I wasn't referring to MAL at all.

2) Nor was I referring to any other specific site either. I just said what seemed logical to me, because of the fact that it would be extremely wasteful on space to use signatures with these dimensions. (Adding the fact that I indeed have never seen a forum use such signatures on a regular basis. Though of course there were some with less limitations then the ones we have here on MAL.)

3) I believe, that I've already acknowledged the fact that "Vertical sigs give you different parameters then horizontal ones. Different composition, focal placement, lighting, depth and other elements that make a gfx sig." by entering this gfx challenge and saying that the theme is interesting.

4) These forums you posted require me to register to brows their threads. I'd be extremely grateful to you, in case you'd take some of your valuable time and make me some screenshots of them.

I've been apart of the Graphics community for years (Actually if you really want to know, since June of 06) and I rarely see Vertical sigs made outside of SOTWs. Hell, I even your comment about people here having "inferior" skills isn't even accurate. I understand the principles of a well done tag (lighting, depth, flow, ect) but I do things in my own style not to make it look like the crap style the graphics community throws out.

And the ironic thing is most good graphics sites have strict signature height rules. You must be an exception.

lol

I was just saying MAL users, especially the ones who are active in the Creative Corner have very little experience in making gfx pieces/sigs etc...compared to the works of artist in all and only gfx communities.
This is normal I guess, since this site is primarily 'track your anime' oriented and Creative Corner is just one of the boards not the board.

As for the registration part, yes you have to do it to gain access to the boards.
I really dont have the will or inclination to make these screenshots. If you are really interested, register and you will see.

this is a lovely theme!
I've never done a vertical sig before (not like I ever had a reason since 99% of them are horizontal, contests usually have a max requirement size, and so do sig sizes).
AHHHH YES! :D
