| Anime/manga seems to attract more women than, let's say, the "gaming" community. I think that's nice, it's fun to be part of a pop-culture interest that attracts both sexes. Most "nerd" culture is dominated by males be it, technology, comics, video games or what have you. What do you guys think makes anime/manga relatively popular with girls? If I had to guess I'd say it's the kawaii "cute" art tbh, but I don't claim to understand how women think. I'm a guy if you hadn't noticed already. |

| There is a lot of females on female oriented websites, Wattpad, for example. Anime is very general and most probably attracts both demographic. |

took the words out my mouth. Have you guys seen that new anime this season about how that guy was shocked to find out his guild was all females? Netoge no Yome is what it's called. I feel like the main character. My trust is damaged. I love people for who they are. But i never assume it's a girl without 1000% evidence. | Guaranteed 100% female user right here. If I changed my gender to female or non-binary would you believe me OP? Most female users are easy to identify through the type of manga/anime they like and for some reason they always have nicer profile layouts |

| Apparently 40% of the users on MAL are female and there are 3.4 million users. 0.4 x 3.4 = 1.36 million females on MAL. | I think avgugly girls with no selfesteem take interests that are classically nerdy to appear more valuable to that potential meat market and inflate their worth. Anime is a 0 dollar down investment where as gaming requires intial capital. Plus cons allow girls to dress slutty. |
