This episode for me was the best episode so far. ( have a feeling the Fujimoto x Kobato may have been part of the reason lol~)
Even though it was just a tree I couldn't help but get a little teary eyed over it. It's just a tree but it has feelings too! . . . right? >.>;
Then the duet was just lovely i love the melody. ( I think I might actually like to do some karaoke to this!) Then to add a little extra goodness Fujimoto appears and pulls Kobato away from the falling tree. HUGGLES~ It was also nice getting to see him smile as well : )

You get ginkgofujimotian! I lol'd! XD it is also nice to kind of having the episode ending on a different note besides the whole points thing.

I liked that scene where Kobato sang her beautiful song, and it makes me relaxed to listen it. It was very good episode and I enjoyed it so far.

I was surprised about Kobat's foresight as Fujimoto was going to punch that rude kid.

Our Kobato can hardly accept defeat, her sadness made me sad too :(

This episode made my eyes water and that song always sends chills down my spine, so beautiful.

This is the first time Fujimoto actually shows he cares about Kobato's well-being. No doubt they'll expand further on this as the episodes go by.

And if Kohaku is a former angel, then I assume Kobato is an angel too and that coming to earth erases her memory (and is also why she doesn't understand the human world at first). Still wondering what this place is she wants to go to, though, and what that has to do with healing people's hearts.

Also, there is something about her hat that makes me wonder why she's not allowed to take it off in public. I too think it has to do with her ears, because when she's not wearing a hat, we see her wear some sort of headdress that covers them.

Nice episode anyway.

Aw, I thought this was a lovely episode. There have been so many times when I wanted to keep something old and others told me to get rid of it. D: So yeah, relatable episode. I know it's a tree but... so what? It was still a great episode, and the song was beautiful.

No, I dun think it's useless to cry over a tree.
They try to tell us that even if it's just a tree, it has feelings and it's alive too.
Just like how animals feel. :'/

Anyways...CLAMP, I have always wondered when I was reading the manga...what is with the hat, I wonder. :'o
I always have a feeling that if it's removed, something horrible might happen to Kobato. >_<
I hope I'm wrong. D:

I feel like I've seen this scenario too much. Also I know Kobato is silly, but dig it up and move it? REALLY KOBATO? gonna dig up the tree with your bear hands and tote it off? steups.

If Kobato would just find someone to sing to everyday I'm sure she'd fill that bottle a lot faster >_>

Holy crap did that tree just commit suicide!? DX ROFL

Oh, I was waiting for it. A tree episode. So cliché.
Didn't really like the concept. But the singing made it up again. =D

And did her konpeito amount just double? lol

Damn son now that's what you call a powerful song. A song that can break trees down, lol. Nah, it was good. I find it very soothing everytime I hear Kobato sing, just add a background voice from Kohaku and it makes it even more soothing. :3

Okay so I didn't know Kohaku speak tree. Must be some sort of her angel abilities. Also, the heck did I just see tree sex? They went emotional for a tree. Well, it's all good since they value mother nature and such.

Very nice for Kobato because I think she got a huge Konpeito from that humongous tree. Also, YEA FUJIMOTO X KOBATO YES. I think Fujimoto's becoming more and more soft after Kobato came into the nursery. :D

It is "Ashita Kuru Hi" by Kana Hanazawa, her songs are very beautiful and cute, if you like this one then check out Kokoro no Madobe Nite (Asobi ni Iku yo! Ending 1) and Ren'ai Circulation (Bakemonogatari Opening 4)

Did I just got emotional over a tree getting cut down?(Then again, I was pretty emotional over a gondola while watching Aria The Natural)

It's quite heartbreaking looking at Kobato's vain effort in trying to dig up and move the old tree... Somehow Kobato's helplessness felt somewhat... familiar...

There are things that you really can't do anything about, even if your heart is at it. Kobato would've kept digging and tearing up if Kohaku not stopped her and let her listen to the voice the the tree.

I'm glad the tree passed away happily after listening to Kobato's song.

Great episode.

That tree really failed at evoking any emotion from me - its acting was way too wooden.

This episode was just trolling all over me. It's a tree... Like, an actual tree.... you know?
The rest of the episode was enjoyable though, but not nearly as good as the previous episode.

Is it just me, or did the amount of konpeito double? It's a shame that rather than see her do the whole point of the show, we watch a lot of nothing. Besides the single piece of candy, all we got from this was a hint dropped about there being something to hide under that hat.

More than that! Kobato's been gathering kompeito off-screen. So, that's how they'll get her to her goal...
I'm surprised nobody mentioned it before you.

This ep. was a little silly, but relaxing and enjoyable... except that it was kind of sad, all the people caring only for the new things and not the old.

Why does Iorogi care so much about her hat?

The pacing is a little bit annoying, but I think Iorogi is missing the point: In order to heal people's hurts, you have to take time to get to know them... except that I may be wrong, because she does spend a lot of time healing people without realizing it by bumping into them and being herself.
Your mean should be an even bell curve only if you watch every show that comes out. Having a high-slung mean doesn't mean you're rating improperly. It can also mean you're selecting shows well to watch mostly things you enjoy.

You're negative on every single episode discussion you post in.

Anyways, Im disappointed there wasn't a new Opening and Ending. Maybe next episode. Also, I didn't realize until this episode that she is always wearing hats. I wonder if she is a demon and has horns. I don't think she is an angel like the other girl since she can't communicate with trees by herself.

Kobato reminds me of her.

Not personality wise, just visually. Both wear dresses and have similar hair styles.

Personally, I'm fond of the fact that Kobato has worked on her mission off screen; makes her less of a ditz, ya know?

Touching episode with a bittersweet ending.

By the way, it's already fall in the series and Kobato hasn't even filled half the bottle. There's one and a half seasons left. Will she make it?

Hearing that song is always so uplifting and beautiful, especially the Kobato and Kohaku duet, so wonderful. That scene with the tree was just so amazing and I was on the verge of tears, probably one of the most beautiful things I've seen in anime in a while.

I think many people are missing the point with the whole "it's just a tree, stop crying." This episode wasn't trying to project some "save the trees" message, it was showing the beauty in the simple things through Kohaku's personification and interpretation of the tree's life as well as Kobato's innocent wish to preserve it. Despite not being able to, her feelings were at least able to reach it through her song. If they wanted to make it a whole "the tree is a person too!", they could have easily given it a voice when Kobato put her hand on it and that would have taken away from the entire moment. It was the symbolism and sentiment behind it that counted most.

A transport has had on me, this episode, so much so that I was going to give away a tear.
About everything, goes to the beautiful OST and storytelling that leaves scroll through the events without forcing them.
Too bad the drawings and animations do not have this same effect, Madhouse flaw yet on that front.
Other mysteries are revealed.
I have some doubts that I will mix in my head for a while: Why Kobato never takes off his hat? And where is the place where should you go? Curious! : D

Such feels. A sad Kobato is not a good Kobato. It's sad to see Kobato like that, she wanted to save the tree but it had to say farewell. But it wasn't all depressing, Kobato's song sure keeps one at peace. I gotta admit, her seiyuu has been doing such an amazing job.

And in the end, the kids get a piece of the tree as well, in the form of new toys.
