Pretty boring really. Not even swagamoto's swag could save it. His eps are pretty hit and miss too. :(
Although I do like Kabaneri xD xD xD but it didn't reach Boku Dake's level of cliffhangers :p

Beautiful, just pristine.

The animation was smooth in some of the fight scenes but when the MC first arrived at fantasy land it wasn't pretty.

It's also really bland it reminds me of the GATE series. There is no personality to the design and it looks stupid.

Compare to some actual good fantasy art:

lmao, its not fair to compare the quality of a minute long pv and a 24 minute long anime that needs to save budget for the next 24 episodes.

I think this season is very well-rounded, but there is no stand out performance. Everything that I'm watching so far seems like a 5-8/10.

Boku no Hero - To me this is an okay anime. I dont expect anything epic out of it, its more of a childish "accomplish your dream" type of shit.

Stray Dogs - This is shit. Complete shit. I came with zero expectations, just to pass the time but when I watched ep. 3 I thought to myself that it could become interesting with the mafia thing. Then ep 4 came along and ruined everything with the abrupt bland comedy, and annoying characters.

Joker Game - Episodic shit. I can't remember the character faces or names.

Mayoiga - Has 30 characters I dont care about but I watch it just because of the silliness.

Sakamoto - I guess I kinda like Sakamoto, but nothing really special

Re Zero - I still dont know how I feel about this. I like the MC but I kind of want him to take his situation more seriously and I still don't know what this anime is trying to accomplish. As an Anime only watcher this interest me.

Kabaneri - This show is good so far. Characters, the world, etc. Definitely one of the best this season.

Sinbad - Sinbad is LITTT!!!

Jojo - The best this season has to offer.

I love it. I generally rate very highly, but definitely see some 10's for me. Sansha Sanyou is a good example. In any case, I personally think this is a very good season and I'm enjoying quite a few, if not all, of the airing anime I'm currently watching. I also really like Gakusen. Seriously I don't know if I just like anime too much or other people don't like it enough, but I love this season, I loved last season, I loved the season before that and I will most likely love the next season. I don't think there's been a season with less than 2 10/10 anime for me. Generally it's a lot more than 2, in fact.

I think it's been pretty good so far with what I'm watching.

Top Tier:
-Boku no Hero Academy: This has been my favourite this season. I've heard different opinions about the pacing of the show but for someone who hasn't read the manga I think it's doing really well.
-Flying Witch: Each episode has been fun to watch with a very charming cast and an amazing mix of atmosphere and comedy that really work well together.
-Concrete Revo S2- Improving on what made the first season really intriguing.

Middle Tier:
-The Lost Village (Mayoiga): Took a bit of time to figure out whether or not this was trying to be a serious horror/mystery series but after this week's episode I think it's safe to say this a horror comedy. Not what I was expecting but it's working in it's favour.
-Kiznaiver: this show seems to be the exact opposite of Trigger, which I think is great to be honest. It's been somewhat inconsistent but if the character relationships can get better than we're in for a good series.
-Joker Game: Not much to say about this except that it's doing pretty solid. Each episode is interesting on it's own but doesn't really explore the characters that much in my opinion.

Bottom Tier:
-Kabeneri of the Iron Fortress: The writing in this hasn't been good so far. I was never invested in it to begin with and only picked it up to see what all the fuss was about and I'm not surprised people like it. The production value's good at least.
-Bungou Stray Dogs: I think it's the comedy I dislike. A lot of it is just characters yelling at each other for doing stupid shit.
-Re: Zero- I think someone on here accurately described this as psychological torture porn. The MC is so goddamn annoying, none of the characters are interesting and the story only becomes compelling when it gets to those 'psychological torture porn' moments which only happen for about 3 minutes. OH and it pretty much rips off Biscuit's character design from HxH.

Edit: Welp just caught up with Big Order. This was a very special type of stupid.

Phoenix Wright is just bad all over. The best I can say about this one is that it is a faithful adaptation. I still don't know why they decided to spoil the murderer at the beginning of each case.

Mayoiga, Sakamoto, Hundred and Boku no hero are all worse than I feared in almost every way. So overall, lesson learned: expectation sets you up for disappointment.

The best season in a long time.

Come at me.
"If you died, would anyone care? Would they really care? Maybe, they'd cry for a day. But, let's be honest no one would give a shit. They wouldn't. The few people that would feel obligated to go to your funeral would probably be annoyed and leave as early as possible. That's who you are. That's what you are. You are nothing to anyone. To everyone."
-Mr. Robot

"I can take another name, and build a new life.. But on the inside I'll always have that instinct, no matter how much I hate it. I'm yakuza through and through. Guile only gets you so far in this game. Remember that. You won't get another chance."

Judging from your MAL list to try and tell what you could be looking in a show...
Try Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt, Jojo part 4 in case you've seen the other 3 parts (the 2012 version is part 1 and 2), and Re:Zero. If you had anything youre looking for in particular, just elaborate.

Thanks, I'll try those! I haven't seen Jojo but I might look into it.

Nope. Spring season is awesome as usual.

Great (8-9/10)
Boku no hero
Jojo part 4
Koutetsujou no Kabaneri
Re:Zero
Joker game

Good (7/10)
Mayoiga
Netoge
Flying Witch
Tanaka-kun
Kuma Miko

The only anime I watched but didn't like and dropped was Sakamoto.

Great
JoJo

Good
Kabaneri
Boku no Hero
Re Zero

Ok
Sakamoto

Disappointing
Joker Game
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

It's a nice season, I'm having fun with it at least.

BnHA: Bit slow paced, but a good adaptation so far. I like the manga, and the anime's doing it justice.
Concrete Revolutio: Best show of the season that no one's watching.
Ace Attorney: Only good for fans of the game. I'm a fan of the game, so it's alright, I just wish it woulda been better.
JJBA 4: Brilliant. Look forward to it every week. JoJo+DP= <3
Joker Game: Kinda disappointed it turned out to be episodic, but it's still good.
Kiznaiver: Interesting
Attack on Trainwreck: Lots of fun. So far better I find it more enjoyable then AoT
Mayoiga: Best anime comedy
Girl Online: Decent enough
Re:Zero: When does the suffering start? I'm only in it for the promised suffering.
Luluco: Classic Trigger
Ushio to Tora: Pacing issues, but still entertaining throwback.

Actually, this is the best season we've had in years, imo.

Yeah because it's just a 2 minute PV minute created to promote a manga. Do you think they'd be able to maintain its art consistent for 25 episodes?

The -design- bro. RE:zero could quadruple its budget and those lizard/cat humaoids would still look retarded, as would Puck (especially big Puck) and the MC would still look uninspired etc.

Whether the designs look retarded or not is simply your opinion. They're being faithful to the LN designs.

Well I'm sorry the MC doesn't have a cow skull for a head to please your superior taste. /s

I'm watching 8 or 9 this season
- Re:Zero isn't that bad. I don't see the bad animation/art. And the MC is not the smartest because he's a normal high school boy like most of us. He don't have an ambition because he's a real person.

- I also disliked the episodic Joker Game but it's enjoyable. I will read its Novel as soon as the last episode is out.

- Kabaneri reminded me of Snk. Even if the ep3 was good.

- Boku no Hero: I like it. The boy even with its power isn't the best of his class.

- Sinbad no Bouken: I like the OVA but the anime decided to remake them. It's somehow boring to rewatch them.

- Sousei no Onmyoji: It's an above average anime.

- Enride : Sucks. Here I can quote your "Bad animation and art".

- Sakamoto: Enjoyable at some level.

- Kiznaiver is a little bit enjoyable also. I'm looking forward to watch the full story of the Haise-Sasaki-looking guy.

It's average. But compared to previous years it is worse. Usually it gets better during the year and the 2nd season (from end of march/beginning of april until june - which is the spring season) is better than the 1st season.(With end of the year being the fest season from october - dezember the airing anime.)

But compared to previous season this season feels a bit weaker. There are a lot of average anime and soem that are above average. But no real 9 or 10 (there usually is at least some anime that feels like 8.5 at least).

Good at the moment are only Kuromukuro, Mayoiga, Joker Game and Sakamoto desu ga. But they are more between 7.5 and 8.4. Sakamoto desu ga could get boring. Also Mayoiga if they don't start to give more background info. Haven't watche the recent episode of Joker Game yet.

Kabaneri is boring crap. Kiznaiver a bit disappointing so far. Hopefully this will get more interesting the next episode. Endride, Asterisk, Terra Formers are okay/average and still fun to watch if you like fantasy/sci-fi/action.

With so many good anime in this season, you are only watching these ?! Drop Netoge, that anime is pure crap and watch something else instead. Try to watch Re: Zero or Hero Academia. If you have time then watch JoJo but you have to watch the previous seasons

I actually am not enjoying Kabanaeri for some reason. I liked episode 2, but died of boredom during ep 3, well, we will see, there is still time left to say if I like it.
I love Bungou Stray Dogs. Every episode had some kind of twist I wasn't expecting which improved my opinion.Dazai also is a cool character.
Kiznaiver looks good, not sure about the story just yet, but it is enjoyable and funny.
Re:Zero is fine, but my least favorite. MC is a bit annoying and the story doesn't impress me. Yet.
Also Super Lovers lol. They should get in the habit of drawing more noses. Seriously.
So far these are the only ones I'm watching this season and I actually enjoy, Bungou Stray Dogs being my favorite so far.
I want to try Mayoiga and maybe, only maybe Boku no hero academia(it looks a bit like your typical I want to be a hero story which is why I'm hesitant). Also I'm still considering if I should watch Jojo.

Go with low expectatives for Mayoiga. It's easier to enjoy it that way.
With Jojo I'd recommend, if you haven't watched it already, that you start with the 2012 adaptation and go from there. One of the things about Jojo is that is consistent, that is, if you like how bizarre the series plays out, there's a high chance you will enjoy the complete saga.

Just thread patiently with the first part of Stardust Crusaders, as it seems as the "low point" of the saga at the moment.
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; What is essential is invisible to the eye.

Actually can't disagree. While last season had based KonoSuba, this season is more consistent in quality.

It's actually pretty good. Kuromukoro, Kabaneri, Hero Academy, Re:zero. These 4 I'm really really into. Also I don't think I'm dropping anything from what I've chosen to watch.

I also feel like Kuromukoro is majorly underrated. So far it's been the black horse for me.

Hundred. The plot getting bad.

loving it so far!

Bungou Stray Dogs is definitely my favourite this season and second comes either Kiznaiver or Tanaka-kun wa Isumo Kedaruge. TwIK is just so funny and whenever a new episode comes out it always makes my day! Kiznaiver is a really interesting idea and i can't wait to see how the story goes.

As for Bungou Stray Dogs, i can confirm that it gets better and better, because i've read the manga nad it was just amazing!

I love the art-style on Kiznaiver. Not even sure why, specifically. It just looks really appealing.
I think it's probably the only thing from this season that I'll end up following.
1 hour = 10,000 yen.
2 hours = 20,000 yen.
3 hours = 3 loaves of French bread.
4 hours = 4 loaves of French bread.

This Spring season is absolute garbage. I didn't think it could get worse than the previous season but this season is really proving me wrong!

Here are the good/okay shows IMO:
1. Jojo Part 4 9/10
2. Space Patrol Luluco 7/10
3. Sakamoto 5/10
3. Re:Zero 5/10
4. Flying Witch 5/10
5. Tanaka kun 5/10
6. Anne Happy 5/10
7. Haifuri 5/10
8. Kuma Miko 5/10

There are 8 watchable shows and 6 of them are comedies or slice of lifes. The only brightside to this season is that because all the shows are shit I'll probably be more productive than ever.

I thought this was going to be a great season in March and I think so still. Some series have exceeded my expectations while others haven't been quite as good.

Mayoiga is AOTS for me - not necessarily because of quality or great plot or anything, but because it's the series I wait for the most every week. I love coming up with theories and predictions about what's going to happen, and the series is sometimes just so bizarrely funny that nothing else compares to it. Jojo, Luluco and others are nice extras on the side, but what makes my Friday is always a fresh new ep of Mayoiga.

Joker Game, Jojo, Space Patrol Luluco and Tonkatsu DJ Agetarou have been consistently interesting as well. While I don't think Joker Game is for everyone, it's interesting to me since it's WWII related. Kiznaiver and Bungou Stray Dogs are a bit meh, and I almost dropped Gyakuten Saiban already. I may drop it in the future unless it gets majorly improved.

On top of the series I watched from the start, I also picked up Macross Delta and Netoge later. Macross Delta is really silly, but I can't help but love how they mixed different genres and just went with it. Netoge seems alright too.

I'd say that it's been the most promising season in a while. I hope the series all get decent finales instead of some Glasslip-like shoddy ending.

I'm pretty disappointed. The only anime that met my expectations is Kabaneri. Well Asterix and that "Girls onlines" anime as well but I never expected anything out of those to begin with.

RE:Zero isn't bad overall but the animation and art doesn't look good. It doesn't handle the drama very well either. I think the atmosphere isn't as tense as it should be, the humor isn't very funny and the main character isn't very likeable.

I kind of liked the Stray dogs manga but it doesn't work well as an anime. The humor is a drag or downright embarassing, plus many of the characters are obnoxious or annoying and as a result the whole show is quite boring.

Joker game came off bad from the beginning by exposing the viewers to the dreaded engrish language which ruined the mood almost completely. The main characters are more or less indistinguishable from one another. and I'm also disappointed that it's episodic.

Are you guys disappointed with any shows this season?

Mod Edit: Title edited to go with the general thread name we do each season.
I personally disagree. I don't really like the pace of Kabaneri, and it feels like its trying to drag out its mystery even though all the information must be relatively close (Mumei).

I'm also really liking Stray Dogs, RE:Zero, Boku no Hero and Haifuri (High School Fleet) and many others much more than I expected too, which was a welcome surprise. Out of everything I'm watching this season the only real disappointments are Sakamoto, Mayoiga and Kabaneri.

You just have bad taste in animes, OP. Also, hype kills animes, I hope you learned the lesson, op.

Kiznaiver is looking like a 10/10 show to me. I've already rewatched the episodes that have come out 3 or 4 times and am loving every second of it.

Everything else is great as well, a bunch of solid shows.

My favourite so far is Re:Zero and then Boku No Hero Academia. I don't wanna talk about why I like these two so much right now but I'll probably talk about it once the anime ends.

Kabaneri is very good and I like it but its inconsistencies prevent it from being great. It has great animation, art and music and some likeable characters but it is pretty overrated, in my opinion. Amazing OP and ED.

Bungou Stray Dogs is something else that I'm watching. It is very good in some episodes, not so much in others. Animation and art is very good. Music is fine. Nothing special. Comedy is not much to my liking. Characters are all right. No one in particular that I like very much. Very good OP and ED. Nothing else to say.

Much better than Winter, thanks to the good SoL anime and Aikatsu Stars, Macross Delta is pretty good as well.

This, hype is the bane of anime. I always love getting surprised by anime like Sakamoto that come out of seemingly nowhere. Far better than hyping up something that ends up mediocre :3

Sakamoto was being hype up though, from manga readers. A lot of people thought it may become a big hit like opm.
