DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- It's kind of disappointing that Rapunzel's (witch mom) doesn't interact more with Yoshika. According to Hakuraku's explanation to Kunieda, she probably qualify to meet the spirit from reenacting the story and personality likeness (Rapunzel, the nice obedient princess locked in the tower longing for her prince). BTW, just noticed after checking the (original) story again. Rapunzel's witch mom is described as loving her like her own daughter. And even after angered from knowing Rapunzel is having an affair with the Prince (as a note, in the ending Rapunzel has bore the Prince a twin, means the girl had child outside wedlock, in the conservative middle age), the Witch only cut her hair and "send her away to distant and desert place" instead of locking her even deeper inside the tower. Then, rather than killing the prince, she pushed him down the tower, blinding him and just let him walk through his trial and grief in the forest until they finally reunited. In the end, unlike most other witches or evil stepmothers/stepsisters, she's not killed by the hero (Sleeping Beauty's evil fairy is already out of the picture and never confront the Prince, so she's different). Probably why the Witch from Rapunzel can let go of Anbe so easily and confident she will come back. |
