Whenever I get to an especially good or especially bad part. Then, the rating changes as I keep watching.

Usually when i finish, waste of time to change ratings when you can just give it one shot at the end, still there are shows that are freaking long like, Katekyo, Gintama, One Piece, Bleach. These shows i just rate after watching a certain number of episodes like about 100

right after I finish while the feeling is fresh.

don't really bother rating shows I drop, and just give them 0's

For the most part I rate it after I'm finished, I don't rate anime while I'm watching it/airing/dropped it with the exception of one piece, because I just love it =).

I generally only input my score rating after I have finished watching a show or drop it. I rarely drop shows so its basically only after I finish. I don't like to rate it before i finish it because my opinion will often change towards the end of the anime depending on how strong it finishes. I usually have a good idea of what I think it is, but I usually wait until the very end.

For me it's usually after four or five episodes, thats based on the first impression it gives me. But, the rating may change depending on if it's got better or worse.

I nearly always rate the how at the end, with some exceptions (but it has to be at least haflway thru' for me to rate it). Zeta Gundam's an exception, which deserves a 10 even just halfway thru'.

I usually rate after the first few episodes i've watched but generally the score fluctuates from that point on (especially if i'm watching something that's airing and i have lots of time to think about the show in between episodes) it really more or less depends on how much the plot has developed by that point

When I feel like I've watched an essential number of episodes, which IMO would be half the show or more. I hardly change my ratings after completing an anime.

After I finish them , because the end of a series can totally change my view of it.

I only rate shows that I've completed. Except for LotGH, that gets an exception because it's far too long and I can't bring myself to watch any more.

I rate shows after I've finished watching the first or second episode. Of course if the anime gets better after the first few eps, then I'll rate it again.

I mostly rate it when it airs and I change the vote once the show is complete because the ending of most anime mostly turn into shit later on :x

Normally at the end but sometimes if it is that good I'll rate it while watching.

Have I posted in this thread already?

...Oh well, whatever.

Short answer:
I rate whenever I want to because when I know something is good, it's goooooooooooooood. My rating then changes based on my feelings on an episode to episode basis.

Long answer:
I can't be arsed. Too lazy at the moment.

This.

I find ratings pretty pointless, anyways. I can't put my entire opinion into a number.

Before I rated it while still watching, now I am rating it only when I'm finished.

My first few months here I used to rate everything immediately following the first episode and change it accordingly towards my enjoyment. Nowadays, I usually wait until I have a firm understanding of the particular series or whenever it's completed, though, I seldom do so. So what about you guys?

When I finish a series. Sometimes even later than that.

A second or third viewing would be optimal in a lot of cases, but I don't have that much time to throw away.

This is what I do. I rate after the first episode and then change it as I watch more, according to how I like the overall series up to the point.

Pretty much what you said OP. Rate it right away and then change it as the series goes by.

I rate after watching 3 episodes, which is when I feel it has had enough time to show its content (unless it's a 50+ episodes serie). But of course, it usually changes after that, and the final score only comes after it's completed.

A series can change a lot towards the end so I usually just wait till I'm finished and weight it up, unless I drop it or it's ongoing that is, in which case I rate then change if need be.

When it's finished, because an anime can change quite a bit in a mere episode! All though, the scores are changeable so I can understand why some people do it that way.

I rate the series about three/fourths the way it is a long series or an OVA that comes out sometimes. Otherwise I wait until the end. Unless it is a terrible anime in that case I will rate it before I drop it.

After completing, I may however think something like "hmm, this seems to be 8 stuff." while watching, but I don't put it on MAL.

Mostla I start after 1-3 episodes, but I constantly change ratings in my currently watching and in my completed list because at any point it is hard for me to give a definite rating to most series.

After 8 episodes, then I change accordingly. Usually the score gets worse or stay the same unless the end is epic.

Always once I've finished the series. I'll make guesses or recommendations before a series is over, but I never give an actual rating until I've finished it.

Must rate at the end. Gundam SEED had proven to me, that even though the first half is fairly good, the second half absolutely made disgust when I hear the name "Gundam SEED". D:

I just cannot rate something unless I completely watch it. School Rumble(1 and 2) is another example, of how something can be really good, with good characters, a little drama and comedy, only to end with distasteful look on my face.

usually i wait until the series is finished until i rate it.. unless i really really like it so far, then i might give it a 9 before it's finished (usually never a 10 because i think the ending could make or break the series.. though i make an exception for series i really like with endings that i think i can already guess). but i always feel wrong rating it when the series is not even half over.

I'm the same for airing shows

If I'm watching a completed show, though, I'll rate it after my first session of watching. I just rate airing shows so that people who want to see if they should pick at up can get an idea, and I don't want to wait 13 weeks or so to help with this idea
And so, I ask you,, sir (or madam), are you wary of THE INTERROBANG‽‽‽

For shorter series (~13 or ~26 episodes series), I'll rate once I finish it, drop it, or put it on hold. For much longer series (Gintama's the only one that comes to mind right now), I'll rate once I complete 1/5 of it.

Once I finished it.
but sometimes, I already rate it when I feel like it's going good.
