| Yuri is also a name in Japan and Russia (obvious from the names of two of the cast it will, in fact, be a Japanese and Russian guy who share the name) so people just need to get the hell over that. Otherwise the animation looks amazing and its an unconventional topic for anime. I'm excited for this. |

Not to mention actual yuri. Did not have to be Sakura Trick type yuri, just lesbian relationship slowly developing would have been nice. |

| Yaoi also stands for "young academics on ice" fyi Jokes asides, yeah the title is a bit misleading despite the "yuri/yuuri" are actually the characters' names. All the expectations lol. It's nice to know that they did a lot of research to work on this anime, hopefully it'll be a success since the trailer and cast looks promising already. Might pick this up as well. |

| A quick look at the mangaka's profile and it's easy to see that she has never written a BL manga before, in fact, she's only done seinen, shounen, and one josei (according to what mangaupdates has). Realistically speaking, this isn't going to turn into romance between the guys. Especially not after 4 years of research. There's a lot of effort being put into this, and I think that in itself is worth trying. But I can see if people don't care for it because they don't want to watch an all male cast. Although figure skating is a beautiful sport, male cast is just icing on the cake for some of us. Otherwise, I'd watch it even if it was all female cast. |

I don't like "fujobait" too, or "ecchi fanservice", a lot of good anime series were ruined just for fanservice (male or female targeted, doesn't matter). BTW there are guys who like "shoujo" and no, they're not "feminine" or "homosexual". For me it's nothing different from girls watching shounen/seinen anime, and it's completely normal. |
