That letter scene was insanely good even though I spoiled it for myself that Isaburo was gonna die.

Poor Isaburo, he went out like a true hero.
So Mukuro wasn't the one who killed his family, that's good to hear.
Lol, with all those names,he really struggled to find a good one.

By "color this in" do you mean the cool effect they usually do like in the ending of the first few episodes of this arc?

I don't know if it's the improvement in art/animation but I feel this arc just surpasses the SA arc for me. Only episodes 301, 305 and 306 were overwhelming from that arc, otherwise I think this arc is better overall. Though the highs in that arc were higher than the highs in this arc even though this arc had some astonishing and over the top peaks.

Man what an amazing episode.Nobume <3 Jesus, Hirano Aya was FANTASTIC in this episode. As for the whole season I once again wasn't satisfied with the animation but at least Sasakis death was quite good. Not sure If I can't wait for the next episode taking into account it's the last ;_;

5/5 once agains. Last two arcs were godlike. I really hope last episode goes out with a BAAAM!

I'm not sad. I dunno why. Maybe 'coz I was disappointed 'bout Nobume doesn't being the killer. Maybe 'coz I felt some scenes a little rushed. Or maybe 'coz his death wasn't unexpected.

I never gave a damn about Sasaki yet why am I crying? Why you do this to me, Sorachi?

That mail exchanges scene. One of the most beautiful scenes I have seen as an anime fan.

I imagined Sasaki would be this particular about choosing his daughter's name. At least the one he chose to bear the name was spared, even though he did not manage to survive himself. Damned crow bastard, read the mood...

I thought I was ready for the feels for this episode, man I was so wrong. I feel so damn sad for those two. Great great episode. Next week, the end is upon us.

I cried at the end. This episode was the reason why I love Nobume and Sabu-chan so much. They are well developed with a tragic end to their story. He was able to finally have a daughter of his own and he named her Nobume. In the manga Sasaki died around Father's Day. He truly is a dad. I've never really like Hirano Aya but when it comes to Nobume's voice acting, it really pact with emotions. Next week is a farewell to the Shinsengumi and a farewell to this anime.

I hope the admins will add "TRAGEDY" as one of the main genre of Gintama

RIP Isaburo. Oboro dead too I guess. Still hope we get answer on that Shoyo look alike guy. Hope we get answer next episode.

Yay, great episode. One of my issues with this arc so far has been the focus on Sasaki-Nobume; not anything specially wrong with that, just that they are not exactly the most thoroughly explored characters through the series and I found this almost exclusive focus kind of sudden, seeing that we had lots of factors (Yorozuya, Shinsengumi, Katsura) I've grown a deeper liking for.

However this episode delivered. It got me attached to both Nobume and Sasaki, and was just incredibly well made in its climax. Heck, it is the first time I've been this close to liking and becoming fond of Sasaki's running gag, it was quite finely subverted for drama here. Also, the little instance with Kondo got me, and the comeback of that weird seed thing was a nice and clever move.

Not too fond of Sougo this arc, though. The guy looks like he's trying to force the shipping every time. I need some of his sadism back to confirm that he's still the same character as always xD

Sasaki death could be predicted but damn at one point i thought kondo might die as well(but it wouldnt be like that soo i was relived when i saw him near the tree :) ).So nobume never killed his family(and he knew that but never brought up)that was interesting ...how will this go on now, i wonder after this arc how will things line up i mean how will they resume after this season ends? some old school gintama episodes or serious arc's? this was the 1st time 2 serious arc's were put together(i mean one after another)?

It is widely said that Gintama never entered full comedy after the SA arc in the manga and that's why SA arc was also referred to as the point of no return.

Expect one more run of Gintama which will pull curtain to one of the greatest anime ever that will most likely end with the manga. :')

Oh really ! well if thats the case then it might reach to another height !!! but but gintama will end :*( how this anime started out and now what has become of it ! they will end manga first and then anime i guess like all other titles,and when will they return(i don't read the news so i don't know much about that :)? And how far has manga reached any news when that will end?

lolz yes we need the sadist sougo :p but it wouldn't fit in here,more then that we need that evil look back in his eyes when he is slaughtering,we did see it once but he was just overwhelmed by shoyo although he fought with all he had but shoyo! Sougo vs kamui was something else entirely (although the fight was for few seconds but damn !!!!!no words for that scene

what an outstanding but depressing episode, fuck you sorachi stop making me feel for the antagonists so much.

The execution in this episode was 'gold'.

10/10 for this episode, tears were shed.

This was a really nice touch with nobume's eyes before and after this arc

Great episode, the soundtrack was on point too.
I love seeing the reaction of people watching the anime only.

Now that it's nearly over, I hope they come back with another 12 episode season, there was too much still images in this arc, took away the gloomy atmosphere that the mangaka created.

I just can't. That was the cruelest commercial break ever, and it's not even like I had commercials. Fuck that cut away just about destroyed me; I'm not strong enough for this shit.

Kondo was BA for the first damn time in 300+ episodes, and turns out I actually care about his hairy gorilla ass, and my heart just broke for Hiji/Sougo when they thought he was dead.

Great job rallying the troops, Gin. Sasaki, you bastard, I'm about to name my daughter Nobume after that. God. Seriously. Wrecked.

Manga is about to enter final arc this year.

And if it finishes this year as well, we might get a new Gintama anime in April 2017 to adapt the rest from this point on. (If that's what they plan, who knows).

Isaburo and Nobume back-story is really good... they are like father and daughter...

Every week Gintama is getting better than the last. Gintama is a gag anime but its real strengths are character development and these serious arcs. I can't believe that next episode will be the last one for this season.

Nah I mean they should've animated that page as a scene, instead of how they did it separately.

Epic and really emotional Episode, Simply amazing in every way.
Teared up on many occasions ;_;

Actually thought Kondo died from the look on Hijikata and Sougo's faces, Never thought I'd be happy to see those pills.

Loved Katsura's small talk about how no matter what kind of Ideal, Conviction that Humans talk about in the end all they really want is companionship.

The conversation between Nobume and Sasaki about how they just wanted to stay by someone's side followed by the birth of the name 'Nobume- Child of Faith' and the inevitable death of Sasaki was just way too much for me to handle :(


The change in Nobume's eyes in the PV is a really beautiful but bittersweet change, Loved it.


Gintama ending next week :(, Why are they bent on making me sad?:(
