Do you agree with this statement?

Being an anime watcher for over 7 years, I realize that anime with high school is like the super heroish movie and the romance in Drama series on TV, in a sense that they are the norm.

Though, I personally would LOVE to see more MC-being-transferred-to-another-world setting anime as the template, since it opens up far more possibilities than the high school type one.

Do you agree with this statement? Do you want a different baseline in making anime?

Blame all the LNs that are full of highschool tournament/supernatural fight shit.

They are the reasons why you start seeing such an influx of these sort of shows.

I guess that's an agreeable statement.
I'm also filled with pure-hearted ulterior motives.

There will always be at least one anime per season set in a highschool. Unfortunately this season didn't have any moe anime, but next season has at least 3.

They are probably popular in Japan, so they get tons of adaptation, nothing more to it.

It's not about popularity. It's just a default setting. If you don't really need a special setting, you just set your anime in an age-appropriate kind of school.

It'll be this way even after they abolish school :3

I am not sure if anyone would disagree with this statement. After all, I would argue that the majority of anime still targets high school aged kids. So producing anime which they can relate to only makes sense.

In general, I have no problem with high school based anime so I don't care if the theme continues. However, I hope in the future that these shows are more like Toradora and not like some other generic based high school anime. Poorly made anime sucks no matter what its setting is. There are too many of them as it is and they need to reach a more acceptable level.

Until the end of anime, this will remain true.

It sure can be interesting, but the quesion is how it's made. I guess high school animes have different genres they want to have. And the most normal place to put teenagers is... school.

One of the most popular and easy settings there are. It's only natural that there's always going to be a massive influx of them.
It's an entirely different kind of flying, altogether!

Unless there is a breakdown or apocalypse of the industry, where virtually no more anime are being produced, this setting won't end.

Yup. High school setting will last forever.

But I wish it was set in a Collage / University instead of high school.

Most anime viewers are teenagers. Yes, anime is mostly for teenagers.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

Aren't Komugi-chan R and Koukaku no Pandora moe in a sense? (They both involve cute girls doing random shit, though not 100% like something such as Kiniro Mosaic, Non Non Biyori or GochiUsa)

Creators often want to hit the right group of audience for this, for example the teenagers that like to buy merchandise and cosplay too. It's a matter if where to make the money. Plus, the school setting is a easy plot to make where the viewers can actually relate to stories or characters, which makes them like that anime more.

What the hell did I think of "Musaigen no Phantom World" all this time. What can this actually be if not moe ? Same goes for Haruchika.

high school embodies the freedom of youth and thus is appealing to a wide audience. so no they arent going anywhere and its likely the vast majority including myself dont want them gone.

age is the main problem , as long as our MC are in their 16>>22 , animes will always have school in it once they start telling stories where mc are older then we would not have to deal with schools in anime

Yes. I heavily agree. Most anime is aimed at teenagers after all. You sort of have to expect it. ^_^

At this point, even I would prefer something set in elementary due to the overwhelming amount of highschool anime there is.
